What Happened?

It has been a couple days since the whole football to the head thing, and I feel weird. Like I'm not sure why or how I feel really but it's not my normal. Every time I see Eric I think well he knew I was in his class maybe he knows my name but then I start thinking and I'm like the hell am I thinking his a popular guy no way he knows me. Right? See there I go again thinking there might be a chance he knows my name and like really knows me. We have been in class together since 4th grade. We had Mrs. Howard as our 4th-grade teacher, she was an interesting teacher always wore very colorful things and had her hair in pigtails most of the times. She was a kid her self when I always saw her. Just imagine a 45-year-old lady now think of her with pigtails and a rainbow outfit and you had Mrs. Howard. I wonder where she is now. Probably still piggy tailed up and looks like she had a rainbow throw up on her. Eric and I were close back then I'm not really sure what happened. We would always play together at recess and eat lunch together. Then one day that all changed, I don't know if he didn't like me anymore because I was a girl or I hurt him. He was my best friend.

The following day I was in the computer lab typing my English paper. When walked in Eric within second saw me and began to walk over towards me. I start stressing think that he was going to notice I looked at him.

He sat down right next to me and went to say something when I blurted out "hi."

As he laughed a little he answered back a sweet and soft "hi"

We sat there in silence for a moment which felt like forever when finally he said "So hows your head doing?

I answered in a soft voice so he was the only one to hear me. "Good" I didn't know why he was talking to me.

He was a popular boy with tons of friends and he was sitting and talking to me a nonpopular girl. A girl who would rather spend Friday night watching Netflix and devouring cheese puffs by the hand full. Then shopping and eating low fat with no added sugar smoothies with my friends. Plus let's not forget the spending millions on only pink clothes and accessories. He should be talking to the Beckys the girl who would talk stupid but look good. Get nasty and act like nothing happened. I stopped typing and turned to see if he was still sitting there. Indeed he was. He turned facing me and we looked at each other for a while before I began to talk to him again.

Since we had Algebra class together I decided to ask him "Do you want to work on the Algebra homework together? "Only if you're not busy of course."

He smiled and answered "Sure, where do want to start?

As I pulled my Algebra folder I said: "How about we start with the review for Thursday test." "Sound good?

"Yeah," Eric answered pulling out his review packet.

The review was a huge packet so of course, it took forever to finish. The whole time we studied together we also talked about everything from football to family.

When we were finally done with the packet I turned to him and I asked: "Whatever happened in 4th grade."

He turned and said "What do you mean?

As I looked at him confused I answered: "You stopped talking to me." "Did I do something" I began to worry because I didn't know if I had done something wrong and never apologized.

He turned away and said, "No. it wasn't you." "You didn't do anything wrong"

He began to throw his things in his bag but before he left he said: "I'm sorry I have to go."

Before I could say anything he was gone. Eric was acting weird but I couldn't tell why. If it wasn't because of me then why did he stop talking to me? I had to get to the bottom of it. But how? What could it even have been?
