Reluctant at the Record Store

Chapter 5

I didn't have work today Luke says you never wanna work when you have a party that night so he pulled some strings with the manager and we both don't have to work today. Which surprises me since I just started I didn't want to get in the habit of not showing up but he said he does it all the time.

I'm still in bed and it already 3 in the after noon. My dad and that whole family want to go out tonight to a family dinner but I told them I have plans with some friends from work. They should be leaving anytime now.

It's now 5 and I just got out of bed and made some Mac and cheese. I told Luke my address and he said he would be here around 9. I've never been to a party. Which is weird since I basically do everything they do at parties. So I don't know what to wear. I'll wait and have Luke go through my closet and pick something.

After I eat and take a shower and do my hair and makeup. I put eye liner on and did my foundation to hide the acne on my forehead and laid out my lipstick so I can pick the one that matches the best with my outfit. I'm sitting on the couch in shorts and a sports bra. It's 12 minutes until 9 so like should be here soon.

There's a knock at the door and when I open it it's Luke.

"Why aren't you ready?"

"I don't know what to wear so come on in and follow me because you're picking out my outfit"

When we get to my room I show him my closet and after about 6 minutes he pulls out my black skin tight one sleeve dress. It has a silver glittery belt with it.

"Wear this" he hands it to me."

"While I put it on my shoes are on the racks beside my bed pick me out shoes that would match."

When I get back he has my black lace heels in his hands and hands them to me when I'm all ready I grab my lip gloss them we head to the party.

"I still can't get over that you live there"

"It's my dad's house I'm here for the summer then I'm heading back to Oregon for senior year"

"Really what of you like it here can you stay?"

"Oh I don't know actually."

When we get to the party the house is, if not bigger than my fathers.

"Your friends live here?"

"Yeah why do you seem so surprised have you see your house?"

"My fathers house and this is bigger than his house."

"Ehh just come on."

We get out of the car and head toward the house. There are people in the front yard with red solo cups dressed in even tighter clothes then I am in. I feel uncomfortable I don't know anybody except Luke.

"Lighten up a bit babe." He says while placing his hand around my waist and pulling me closer into him.
