Chapter 2: Ice Creams!

What a way to ruin a friendship!

Ali's unexpected proposal in the club yesterday night had left Avni dumbfounded! She hadn't wanted to crush the guy but saying yes was not even an option, especially when she only considered him a friend!

She also felt so embarrassed because He was there & He had witnessed everything! Oh! How humiliating!!

Avni had come to the Jogger's Park to run off the awkward events of yesterday night! But instead she was just sitting on the park bench, remembering & cringing!

Just then the tinkling bell of the ice-cream man infringed on her pity-party of 1!

Ice-cream! That always brought the smile back on her face, no matter the mood she was in! Ice-creams were just that magical!

They also brought back memories of happy times she had spent with her loved ones while enjoying this cold & sweet treat together!

With all her troubles forgotten for a while, Avni approached the ice-cream seller with an almost childlike enthusiasm. Amongst the vast choices, she eagerly selected her favourite, a Magnum Chocolate Truffle.

But the ice-cream seller didn't just give her her ice-cream. He also handed over a sealed envelope to her! At her enquiring gaze he just shrugged his shoulders & merrily went on his way, without taking money from her.

Avni didn't know what was happening. This was similar to the envelope she had gotten yesterday with that coffee. Who was sending this & why? She felt so puzzled!

With a sense of inevitability, Avni opened the envelope. There was a note on the IICA embossed paper & a tissue napkin.

Intrigued, Avni opened the note to read,

'Avni,

Hope eating your favourite Magnum Chocolate Truffle brings your precious smile back! Oh and the tissue is to wipe off the chocolate whiskers off your face! ;0

Always looking out for you,

Your
Secret Admirer!'

The note involuntarily brought a smile to Avni's face.

Looking at the happy smile on Avni's face brought a contented smile on her secret admirer's face as well. His 2nd effort to make her happy was also a success!

Suddenly something clicked for Avni. This guy had to be here to send the ice-cream guy to her!

She carefully held the note and the ice-cream in her hand before standing up to look around her hurriedly!

She was just heading out to look a bit further when she ran into Neil & Ali. The suddenness of it disbalanced her & she would have fallen on her backside had Ali not caught her hand at the right time!

As if the embarrassment of last night was not enough, this clumsy behavior of hers was like a cherry on top of her personal humiliation and that too in front of the same 2 people!

Without another word, Avni just ran from there, leaving behind two totally stunned boys!

"I can't give up on her yaar", reiterated Ali. "Look at her, just look at her! How can you not love her?", he finished dreamily.

Neil just hummed in response. His gaze thoughtful as it followed the retreating figure of a sheepish Judokas.
