I looked puzzled as I looked at the text Courtney texted me.I read it out loud over again." Gene. There's something IMPORTANT that I need to tell you. Please meet me at Jimmy Pestos"
It took me a while before I decided to go! I rushed downstairs to beg Zeke to watch the kids!"Gene, I told you I can't! I need to drive Zoe to school." I walked outside as Zoe stuck her tongue out." Zoe let's go!"
I ended up taking the kids with me! But it was okay because they both fell asleep as soon as I got to Jimmy's. When I pulled up Courtney was standing outside her car in a trench coat and shades.
"What do you want?" I yelled. She slowly took her glasses off as she turned to me."Gene, there's something I need to tell you." By the way, she was talking I felt like I was in a drama tv show!
"Rember right before Eugenia's adoption I left for a little bit?" It's true. She left JJ and me alone." A little bit?!! You left for ten months!" After I yelled she put her glasses back on as if she didn't want to be seen with me." The truth is. I wasn't working on the adoption. I was having her. Eugenia is my baby! So technically I have full custody." I stood there with a blank look on my face. Courtney went into the car and grabbed her out her car seat."Bye Gene! Sorry, you had to find out this way." She put the sleeping Eugenia in her car and drove away. I watched her car leave while I stared at the street.
I assumed that JJ was still asleep but I didn't care because I just lost a child!
