Photo of Eric JenkinsIt is finally my birthday again and I am happy that I get to spend it with Kyle. I wonder what he has planned for us. I wish my dad could spend more time with me on my birthday I mean I am turning 19 but I have to give him some credit because I woke up this morning with a bouquet of 25 mixed flowers and a fancy card that said how much he loves me and how fast I'm growing up.
I run up to my bedroom to clean up so that it is at least somewhat presentable. My cell phone rings so I reach into the pocket of my jean shorts looking at the caller ID and it's Kyle so I pick up the phone.
"Hey, Kyle, what's up?"
"What time do you want me to come over?" he sounds out of breath.
"Umm, any time you want just tell me when you are coming. Are you okay?"
"Me yeah. I just got back from the gym. How about I take a shower and get ready. I'll call you when I'm on my way."
"Okay. I'll take a shower too."
"Okay. Byee."
"Bye," I reply hanging up the phone and finish cleaning up my room. The rest of the house is already clean so I set my phone on my bed and head to the bathroom to take a shower.
After I finish my shower I wrap a towel around my body and comb my hair. Then I scrunch it with my fingers to bring it to life. I walk to my closet in my bedroom and look for something nice to wear. I would wear that red dress from the graduation but it got ripped when I fell and the heal on those shoes that I wore broke. But lucky for me, I went shopping a week ago and got a very nice dress and a pair of shoes with my best friend Crystal before she left me for New York. The dress is red, goes down to my knees, and it's pulled tight to the side with the extra fabric hanging down. The shoes are silver 2" and straps at the toe. They are pretty easy for me to put on and take off. My cell phone rings once again and it is Kyle so I answer it.
"Hey."
"Hey, Rose. I'm coming, are you ready?"
"Yep. I'm all ready!"
"Okay bye."
I hang up and a few moments later the doorbell rings so he was probably calling from my porch. I do a last minute check in the mirror then I run down the stairs with my heels in hand. When I get down there I quickly put my shoes on and open the door. Kyle is standing there with a small bouquet of flowers and he is wearing a suit and his hair looks nice!
"You look angelic Rose!" he says handing me the flowers. I playfully swat his shoulder.
"You look great Kyle! Thank you for the flowers." I say taking them and putting them in the vase with the flowers my dad got for me.
"You are very welcome!" he says holding out his arm for me. I shut off the lights and grab a hold of Kyle's arm with a smile. I'm really happy that we can go out like this as just friends.
Kyle made reservations for one of the nicest restaurant in town so when we got there we got seated right away. About halfway through our meal, I decided to go to the bathroom.
"I have to go to the bathroom I will be back in 5 minutes," I say standing up and placing my napkin on my chair.
"Okay I'll wait for you," he said with a smile. I stand up and walk over to the bathroom pushing open the fancy door. I walk over to the mirror above the sink to fix my hair and makeup. I heard the bathroom door open so I look to see who is there and it's Colton in the girls' bathroom.
"Colton, what are you doing here?" I say in a scared voice.
"What? I can't say hi?"Colton asks in a smug tone.
