School had been quiet ever since the party. Dawn would see people giving the group sad, mournful looks as they passed in the halls. As the days past, it was growing the slightest bit annoying, however the group understood why, obviously.

It had been a few days since Jace fell down the stairs. It was a larger flight, and he hit the landing full force– directly on his shoulder, then rolled and hit a wall. Dawn was the first person who saw him on the ground, as she was leaving to go home. No one could've expected something like that to happen, especially to the one who always thinks so carefully before acting on anything.

There was pool of scarlet blood that surrounded Jace, his clothes were blotched by the same colour that of rust. It was a horrible sight and less than twenty minutes later the police had shown up to clean up the scene.

The next day, no one from that group showed up at school. It was all too sad to show up. School didn't seem the same without Jace. Jace was the smartest one, and he made terrible, yet great jokes that made everything a little less awkward. However now that he was gone, nothing would feel the same.

Today was a spare day, at least that made Dawns day a bit better. It was too cold to go outside, so her and Lena stayed inside talking and gossiping.

There was a tension in the way Lena sat. She normally didn't sit straight up, usually didn't have her shoulders back and her head high. She wanted to tell Dawn something, that much was clear.

"Do you know who was with him when he fell? Was anyone else with him?" Dawn blurted suddenly, and instantly regretted it. All the tension in Lena's body seemed to get worse, especially in her shoulders, though Lena's head seemed to droop as if it were a wilted flower.

"No. I think the last person he was with was Jasmine." Lena paused, then looked up a bit. Something flashed In her eyes then. "Dawn? There's something I've been meaning to tell you,"

At the sound of that, Dawn's attention was on Lena. "Yes?" She leaned a bit closer to Lena, very focused on what Lena was about to tell her next. "What is it?" She urged further.

"Have you... have you ever thought that Tyler was cheating on you?" It was like Lena had slapped her. Dawns eyes flew open, wider than before, and her mouth opened ever so slightly.

"What do you mean!" Dawn cried in confusion. "Why would I think that? Is there something you're not telling me?"

Lena didn't respond, and Dawn got a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. Was Tyler cheating on her? He couldn't possibly do something like that, right? He was too nice to do something like that.

"Is he cheating on me?"

Again, no response. Dawn could hear her own pulse pounding in her ears. It felt like her world was falling apart, as if it was being ripped apart in front of her. Through clenched teeth Dawn asked another question, but it came out in a quieter voice.

"With who?"

Before Lena could respond, if she was going to respond, the bell rang, ending their spare. Dawn could practically see the chances of her knowing what was going on slipping through her fingers.

Everyone sat down at their table, as lunch was next. No one had assigned spots, but Simon and Jack still made room as if Jace was coming. It felt wrong not to.

There was an unknown tension between everyone inside of the group. It was more than just Dawn being angry at Tyler, there was something else happening inside the group. Was it because Jace wasn't around anymore to lighten the mood, or was it even about Jace?

Dawn sat in between Katrina and Lena, and though she wanted answers from Lena, she wasn't ready to find out the answer of who this person was, much less pull Katrina into this mess. Dawn couldn't eat. The stress of not knowing who it was made her lose her appetite and fill her instead, with dread and worry.
