It was night fall, with little to no light showing from the moon. At the top of the mountain, there was a cave. The little light that was shed from the moon illuminated the clearing in which a man stood.

The man lay there, shivering. He felt as though he deserved nothing but what was happening to him.

He rarely ate and drank and was always cold, as he rarely ever in the light. He felt more proper in the darkness.

After months of this torture someone found him, somehow knowing he was there. The figure stood in the light, casting shadows around the man. The figure held a small oil lantern, which lit up the cave enough for him to be aware of his surroundings.

The man in the darkness wore rags, hair long and tangled which hung over his face. His slim torso sat up to look at the intruder.

"Hello." The figure spoke. It was a voice that of a female, sounding kind and welcoming. "Your family sent me to help you, and so I came."

"How? They're all dead!" Exclaimed the man. It sounded frail and rough as a result from staying silent for so long.

"I know," the woman soothed. She stepped over to him slowly. "They came to me in my dreams for months, telling me where you were and what has happened to you. Don't be afraid; I can help."

Even in the dim light, the woman saw the mans whole body tense up. "How can you help me?" The man asked. "I've tried everything to cure myself, and nothing has worked. How can you help me? What do you have that might be different?"

The woman reached him and cautiously put her hand on his shoulder. "I have your ancestors to help me take this curse off of you."

Lena woke up gasping. It wasn't the first time she had the dream. Each time exactly the same, ending the exact same way. There was never a pattern as to when it would come and she knew it was some sort of message.

She did her usual morning routine, and got on the bus quickly. She put her earbuds in and started to think about all the things that had changed in her life. Mostly the cheating.

Ever since Lena found out about the cheating, she wasn't able to go near Luke, too afraid something similar might happen to them and that her friends would accuse her of choosing him over them. Her and Luke's relationship wasn't as an official couple, but she knew it would happen soon. Now that she knew the truth of the boys who'd cheated, she couldn't risk having her heart break in the same way as her friends.

Lena thought she'd been doing the right thing, keeping it to herself, but she'd slipped up. Unfortunately, because of the one error, she ruined two relationships more than she'd have liked. Not that she wanted to ruin them at all.

Two days had passed since the breakups had happened, and it'd been almost a week since she'd last spoken to Luke. Although Lena knew she should talk to him, her fear kept her far from him. Even though Luke never came directly towards Lena, she noticed in the glances he took towards her some days, just how much he wished to talk to her again. How much he missed her company.

But two of her friends were hurt and broken. Lena couldn't leave them at such an awful time, just for someone she likes. Dawn and Katrina wouldn't leave her in her times of need for some guy, so Lena wouldn't either.

That morning, Lena got to school off of a quiet bus ride without Katrina. Once inside, Lena went to her friends spot and saw Katrina socializing once again with the others.

So many new things had happened and now the energy in the group felt off. Jace had left to go to a new school for extremely smart people, but had his accident. Ash and Tyler had almost everything taken away from them thanks to Dawn and Katrina. They lost their dignity, respect and the small reputation in the group.
