Theievery Part 1

'Purple Diamond pov.'
"What if he's really mad at us?" Pearl asks me with watery eyes.

"Don't cry Pearl. Steven loves us and-and we should have told him more about Pink-I mean Rose- in the first place. It's just...hard for me. She was...everything, and then we heard she was shattered but she wasn't, and I got her back just to lose her-" Amber places a hand on my shoulder and I stop.

"I'm sorry. You loved her too, I shouldn't act like I'm the only one affected." I sigh. Pearl gives me a pained smile and I look at the ground. The warp pad lights up and we stand up quickly.

"Steven! You're back." Pearl says.

"Heyyy Stevo." Amethyst says cautiously.

"We're so sorry about earlier." I say as I walk towards him.

"Forget about that, we have to catch up with her!"

"What? Who?" Amber demands.

"Blue Diamond." Garnet replies. I gasp and cover my mouth.

"She was here? On Earth?" I squeak as I start hyperventilating.

"Holy smokes, they're all coming out of the woodwork." Amethyst says excitedly.

"Amethyst turn into a chair, we need to sit down." Pearl gasps as I lean against her.

"She took dad, she alien abducted him, and it's all my fault!" Steven panics.

"She took Greg?!" I growl. No one, not even my beloved Blue, can take Rose's true mate.

"Our Greg?" Pearl asks.

"What other Greg is there? How are we gonna get him back?!" Amethyst says with agitation clear on her face.

"What does she even want him for? To eat him? To put him in a zoo?" Steven questions. Pearl and I freeze and share a look.

"PINK DIAMOND'S ZOO!" We shout together.

"What?!" Steven asks.

"Pink Diamond, Rose Quartz if you will, she had a zoo where she collected and cared for humans. When we thought Pink was shattered, Blue and I went there all the time! When she first started collecting humans, they were so sad and depressed. Later, before Steven was born, she confided in me that the Zoo was one of the reasons she started the rebellion. There's no point in freeing the humans there now though. They love it there, they wouldn't be able to handle the stress of coming to live on earth." I sigh with a shake of my head.

"It's true. I saw it when I still served...homeworld. They live as pampered pets and no gems interact with them unless they are badly injured." Pearl says as she rubs her chin.

"I hated that place. You think she took Greg there?" Amber asks with furrowed brows.

"Steven, Blue Diamond wanted him alive?" Pearl asks as I wring my hands. The humans I couldn't force to leave the Zoo, but what of the Rose Quartzs soldiers bubbled there? And all the others unbubbled? Oh dear.

"Yes, yes she liked him!" Steven assures with a scared look.

"I can't think of anywhere else she'd put him if she wanted to keep him." I tell Pearl.

"Okay! But how are we going to get there? All of Auntie's ships have been flagged by the Diamond Authority." Steven says with a sad look.

"The Roaming Eye." Garnet says with a smirk. I clap and nod.

"Don't worry my little Diamond. We're not coming back without him." I tell Steven as I place a hand on his shoulder.
