Salvation

Chapter 4

It was silent for a few minutes until my mother said she is going to make tea for everyone. I look at the man sitting down opposite me. He's very good-looking,tall with goldish eyes. He can have any girl he wants but here he is wasting my time. "You left without talking to me last night, so I figured I should come to you." I sigh "yes I was exhausted yesterday and there was a lot I needed to think about." He nods "I understand it's alot  for you to take in but I want you to give us a chance. I know you think I've never paid attention to you but I like you. I've liked you for some time."

I sit there looking at him unable to respond. " look I know this is a surprise to you but its true, I just didn't know how to tell you." I cast my eyes to the floor then look back at him
"I don't know what to say" Then I start giggling softly, shaking my head. "You know if this was 6 years ago I would be over the moon, I had a crush on you but to you I didn't exist." He looks shocked "If I knew Lola I would.  . . " I cut him off "Actually I'm glad you didn't know. That was a long time ago and I'm over you." I shake my head "You know what's more frustrating Alpha? Is the fact that your family is under the impression that I want a raise in ranks." He scoffs "Please every female likes a powerful man."

This man is more stupid than I thought. He thinks I want power, he thinks he can have me because he's the future leader? Together with my wolf we've made a decision, we don't like this male wolf, he's not worth either of us. We not gonna be his submissive little toy  just because  he's gonna be Alpha.

"Oh I see now, you didn't choose me because you want me, uh-uh it's because you thought I was gonna be easy, submit to you while you do as you please." He chuckles "You smart aren't you? Well yes I did choose you for that and more." He winks, lust seeping out his pores. I shudder thinking of this disgusting male touching us. I growl lowly at him. He quirks his eyebrow at me,seeming amused. "You may be growling at me now,but I'll have you know you will be moaning my name under me soon." He winks

My mother chooses that time to bring the tea. It's clear she heard the whole conversation, my father left as soon as this male started talking crap. "I am going to check things at the Cafe,call me when you are done." She glances at Dovonan, with a shake of her head then she leaves.

Now I'm feeling a little uncomfortable knowing it's the two of us in the house, he can take advantage of me. "Relax I won't do anything to you yet." I click my tongue "You not only full of yourself,you quite stupid too." I sip the tea. "I really have places to be so let's make things clear. I won't be your mate." He growls at me "but you will be, whether you like it or not!" He shouts. "You forgetting one thing though,You can't force me to accept you or the bond won't accept our mating." I smile smugly at him, my wolf liking the sound of not being bound to this male.

"You are forgetting I can command you to accept me, I will be your Alpha after all." He smirks. I laugh like a hyenna hearing that. "You pathetic Dovonan, you can't even fight for what you want. No female wants a male who has no backbone. You weak!" He growls, moving from his seat. "I'm not weak, why work hard for something I can get by snapping my fingers?" Can't he see with all the bullshit he's sprouting it's making him less and less attractive.  "Sorry but I'm not your gold-digging whore Laura, who you have at beck and call." He growls and lunges at me but I move before he can touch me. She's a tender subject I see. "Don't talk about her like That! You know nothing about her!" He's so angry, there are veins popping out of his neck and his face is red. I can tell he's two seconds away from shifting.

"Then why the fuck aren't you marking her instead? Clearly you love her." He huffs "I don't love her but my wolf is very fond of her. He doesn't like people disrespecting her." I'm stunned by his confession. "Even better, your wolves have bonded,they recognise each other as mates." I say throwing my hands in the hair. "No it wouldn't work out with her. We too alike. The pack would crumble with her as a Luna.' He looks ashamed admitting this out loud. "At least you know she's a bitch." His eyes turn golden "Please I won't be with someone whose wolf will take it's frustration out on,because he doesn't recognise me as his mate. You know for him it will always be her first. It's either you wait for your true mate or you mark Laura."   He shakes his head "You don't understand but that's fine. I still have time to change your mind." With that he leaves the house.

I look at the time, I should be at the Cafe already. I text mother saying i will be coming in soon. I shower and leave for the Cafe all while thinking about the conversation I had with Donovan.
