I Promise

JORIE POV

I went to get caribou for my mom and I to wake us both up a bit because the night was a little exhausting. When I pulled into the drive way I saw an unfamiliar car parked alongside mine.

I grabbed both drinks and walked inside.

I set the keys on the kitchen counter and walked into the living room with my moms drink. Before I knew it, it was on the ground. I was stunned. I didn't know what to do.

There standing in front of me was the boy who made my life complete, but I couldn't move. Everything was silent. I saw him walk towards me and wrap his arms around me. I just stood there. I didn't hug him back, I just stood there. I could see his lips moving but I couldn't hear what was coming out. I turned around and ran upstairs into my room and locked the door.

For the next twenty minutes I finally regained my hearing and moving abilities. I could hear Cameron on the other side of the door asking me to come out and talk to him. He must have sat down because the banging made its way to the bottom of my door. I sat down next to it.

I put my ear up and listened to him mumble. "Cameron stop" I whispered, he still heard me. "You really need to stop."

"Jorie" he said back quietly. "my life is hell without you. Actual hell."

The tears came and I began sobbing in my hands. "Cameron, I can't live like this. Amy thinks I'm a bitch, I try talking to other guys and I only think about you, Megan thinks you don't care about me and I started believing her. Everything that happens to me is ten times worse without you." I unlocked the door.

He opened it and saw me on the floor crying. He sat next to me and held me tight in his arms. I cried in his shoulder.

"Everything's going to be alright" he whispered in my ear. "trust me, I'll protect you." He kissed me on my head then carried me into my bed.

We laid like that until we stopped crying. "Don't leave me again" he said running his fingers through my hair.

"Never" I said back starring at the ceiling.

"Do you ever wonder if God wanted my sister to die?" It was a question I always asked myself but never knew the answer. I never asked anyone else because I thought they would judge me or tell my mom. I could trust Cameron.

"God has a plan for all of us. Her life may have been short but she must have had a reason to be on this earth."

"But why did she have to die so horribly?"

"Death is always a horrible thing, but that I don't know" he said turning my face to his. "How come you can't look at me?"

"I'm afraid" I said looking down at my hand in his.

"Why are you afraid?"

"I'm lost and confused and afraid of hurting you again. What if I mess up and do something dumb?"

"I did something dumb, by letting you go. I fixed it and look at us now. You can't do anything that will make me want to leave."

"You can't stay here forever" I said finally looking back up in his eyes.

"Your right, I will have to leave, but now I know when I am done I get to come back to the most amazing girl in the world." He got up and pulled out a little box. He sat down next to the bed on one knee. I sat on the edge of the bed with my hands to my mouth. He pulled out a ring.

"I promise you, Jorie Ann Night, one day this ring will have a diamond, but for now we will share our young lives together loving and caring for each other. I promise to protect and honor you for as beautiful and amazing as you are. You are my princess that I would do anything for. I will forever love you Jorie and I hope you want to share a long, amazing life with me as much as I want to with you." The tears flowed out of my eyes as I practically screamed "yes" and watched as he slid the ring on my finger. I tackled him with the biggest hug and happy cried in his chest.

"I never and will never stop loving you from the day we met at the food court till the day we hold hands up in heaven. I love you Cameron Dallas."
