Why do you care? (Flowey X Papyrus fanfic)

It's Official Then...

The party only got more insane. Flashing lights, a disco ball and monsters making out! The flower grumbled seeing Undyne and Alphys go at it was disgusting... This was supposed to be a party to celebrate the wicked evils of all hallows eve but right now it looked like a Valentine's day celebration gone right. Papyrus turned away finding it awkward... It was later now, dark outside and chillier. Frisk was running around with that monster kid playing hide and seek. Papyrus drank a small bit of punch but it didn't taste so good. "C'mon you guys, let your hair down" Undyne yelled. Papyrus and Flowey replied in unison "We don't have hair" "Oh right" Undyne rolled her eye and plopped herself beside the two. Alphys meanwhile laid at her side, done out after dancing and that extensive kiss. "So are you two like a couple now or something?" Undyne questioned making the pair blush, Flowey was first to reply and deny "N-NO why would think th-that?!" Undyne chuckled to herself "You are, aren't you?" Papyrus spoke up next "UNDYNE PLEASE, CONTROL YOURSELF. FLOWEY AND I ARE JUST REALLY CLOSE-" "Partners!" Alphys belted out. Flowey snarled at the lizard, showing his teeth "You stay out of this!" "Why should I?" Alphys surprisingly argued back in a clear, almost fearless voice that put Flowey in his place. "Am I not supposed to defend my girlfriend? Anyway you even said it yourself you like Papyrus more than others!" Flowey's face burned up, she just had to bring that up, didn't she! He couldn't find any words to save the situation so he just kept his mouth shut and buried his face in his golden petals. Papyrus however was taking this more calmly. "YOU REALLY SAID THAT?" Papyrus asked with caution. Undyne's grin only grew wider when the flower didn't reply, she knelt in close to Papyrus "That means yes" she declared in a whisper, having observed the same symptoms with Doctor Alphys before they hooked up. Flowey remained silent, if the world could kill him right now he would accept the sweet offer of death with gratitude. Papyrus sensed Flowey's uneasiness and opted to be alone with him for a while. The girls giggled and winked agreeing that 'alone time' would be better. Papyrus sighed and headed for the door, what'd you know this was just like the night he had left the restaurant...

But that wasn't his main concern at the moment. The skeleton crouched down beside a wall and examined a noise he heard. It seemed two people were out here making out, Papyrus moved away, letting them have their space. "FLOWEY" Papyrus assertively spoke "FLOWEY, LOOK AT ME" The flower shuddered, still having his petals conceal his face. "FINE BE THAT WAY BUT PLEASE LISTEN. I'M HAPPY THAT YOU TALKED THINGS OUT WITH ALPHYS AND THAT YOU WERE BRAVE ENOUGH TO DISCUSS HOW YOU FELT ABOUT ME. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE COURAGE TO BRING IT UP WITH UNDYNE..." Flowey slowly undid his petals but kept his head down low. Silence dawned on the two. "FLOWEY, COME ON TALK TO ME. YOU HAVE THE TIME NOW TO TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT ALL THIS" The flower spoke in a harsh, bitter tone "How I feel about all this? You wanna know how I feel!" Flowey raised his head, an angry, tear stricken face met the skeleton's. "WELL YES, I DO" Papyrus tried but failed to keep the nervous dip from being obvious in his voice and so Flowey's tiny head fell to the floor again "I feel so confused, you and everyone else are so damn kind to me but I don't deserve it! It's strange and creepy, you're- you're all just acting like nothing happened! That the past dosen't exist, you- you can't simply forgive someone with the click of a finger... So why? Why are you and all the other monsters being like this!" Papyrus took a couple of seconds to register the proper response "BECAUSE WE LOVE YOU, ALL OF US... YOU CAN'T HOLD A GRUDGE FOREVER FLOWEY... ALSO COME ON I THOUGHT WE WERE OVER ALL THIS..." Flowey nodded and sighed "We were but I just can't understand. It's like everyone really cares... but they can't it's all an act obviously!" "SO MY CARE AND CONSIDERATION FOR YOU IS AN ACT?" Flowey shot up to attention "No you're different... What we have is different and- huh you're gonna make me say it aren't you?" Papyrus nodded and Flowey started "I love you, happy?" Papyrus nodded even more and placed the pot to his chest, tightly hugging it. "I LOVE YOU TOO!" Flowey groaned, where was this even coming from? His mind hated him but he felt like this was right. After a few moments of no words Flowey shivered and Papyrus did too, "LET'S GO BACK INSIDE" "Agreed"
