Veronica had a hard time trying to park on Archie Andrews street. There were so many cars, she was sure the whole town was at his party. The music blared from his house and she and Betty walked up to the door where a bunch of football players were chugging beers.

Luckily, Betty's house -right next door- was dark. Her parents weren't home.

"So how come you offered to come to my house? You literally live right next to the party."

Betty smiled, "I wanted some alone time with you."

It was Veronicas turn to smile. "You're too cute." She suddenly was hit with a feeling of anxiousness about the entire relationship and everything with Archie. "Betty we should talk..."

"Now? But we're at a party." They entered the house and Betty immediately picked up a drink and handed one to Veronica.

Veronica disposed of the foul smelling beer in the trash. "I didn't know you drank."

"Neither did I. Just let loose, V. Its a party!"

Veronica could tell Betty was anxious. She grabbed her wrist and pulled the blonde upstairs to Archie's room. It was quiet and dark. It smelled just like his cologne. Veronica blushed as she remembered what happened last time she was in here.

She sat the blonde on Archie's bed. "Betty..."

Tears threatened to overflow from her blue eyes. "It's hard, Ronnie."

"What is?"

Betty took a deep breath. "I love you so much. I'm so scared about my parents and the backlash the town will give. Im scared of ruining you and Archie. Veronica, I love you, but I'm scared of what will happen when I'm with you."

"But don't you want to try? Your parents will have to accept you. The town is nothing. They will judge you no matter what. Also, me and Archie? Look, he's a great guy but I used him to make you jealous. I love you Betty Cooper. Ever since I first laid eyes on you."

She pulled Betty in front of the full length mirror Archie had in the bedroom. Standing behind her, Veronica traced Betty's facial features. "You're the prettiest girl I've ever seen. Your eyes, your hair...your smile. All things I love about you. The thing I love most about you," She placed her finger against Betty's temple, "is your mind. You're beautiful inside and out. I'd be crazy not to see it."

When the tears trickled down Betty's cheeks, Veronica wiped them away and continued. "Let's give this a chance. Let's give us a chance."

She intertwined her fingers with Betty's and caressed her cheek. She pulled Betty close and pressed a kiss against her lips. Within seconds the blonde melted and pulled Veronicas legs up around her waist. She led Veronica to the windowsill and continued making out with her. When she stopped to breathe, her blue eyes fluttered open and landed on the room right across Archie's bedroom.

Her own room.

Why was the light on?

Veronica turned, confused, and in the window across the property line stood Mrs. Alice Cooper. Slack-jawed in awe.

In the days following the Archie party incident, Betty cut off all contact with Veronica. All of the texts and calls and even letters from Veronica were blocked and burnt. Veronica didn't have a sleep filled night the entire week.

At school, Veronica decided to walk up to Betty during lunch. She sat alone; not even Kevin sat with her.

When she stood in front of Betty, the girl just rolled her eyes.

"Leave me alone, Veronica."

She put her hands on her hips, "Betty, we need to talk about this."

Betty stood up, "talk about what? How you ruined my family life? How my mom won't even talk to me?" Her voice had risen to a shout by the end, earning the stares of nearby tables. It was deathly quiet.

"Veronica, I want you out of my life."

Veronica quietly nodded and turned away. She walked to the nearby bathroom and let out all the tears she had held in the entire conversation.

"I'm such a fool." She whispered to herself.

When she exited the bathroom, she ran into a familiar red head.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry Archie."

He smiled politely. "It's okay, Ron."

They stood awkwardly for a few minutes before Archie laughed.

"What's so funny?"

"I can't believe I was mad at you. I was stupid enough not to understand you were desperately in love with Betty."

Veronica was confused. "What are you talking about."

"Ron, I saw the video and I accidentally overheard you two in my bedroom at the party."

Veronica blushed. "I'm so so-"

Archie held up his hand, "no, don't be. You two are really in love. I'm okay with that. I just wanna be your friend again Ron. No secrets."

Veronica hugged him tightly.

"You two belong together."

Veronica frowned. "Not according to Betty. Her mom found us kissing and now Betty won't talk to me." She frowned and put her head on Archie's shoulder.

"Oh,Ron, I'm so sorry." He whispered against her hair and held her tighter, a warm reminder that he would always be there for her. Something she needed right now.
