You decide to take the back road home.
You got bored of the road you always traveled.
You wanted to be in your car just a few minutes longer than usual.
Listening to that one song all the way through.
And then on repeat.
You miss your street to turn on.
That same song playing in the background,
But it doesn't feel like it was on repeat.
You pass your street again.
Going down that old back road.
Convincing yourself that your going home.
That this time you will turn on your street.
Everyone wants a home to drive to,
A direction to follow,
And someone to miss.
Driving down that old back road made you feel all of those things,
Even if that street wasn't the street you lived on.
That old back road convinced you it was.-back road
