Another hectic week at Uptown Records is dead and gone, yes lawd. Today was Saturday and therefore a free day. Ayana had been pressin' me about having a "sister's day" for some months now but I'd just always be so busy. It's true that I have weekends off, but all I be wanting to do then is chill at home and lay up under my man. However, "my man" is the one who suggested I spend time with my lil' sister because once she's off to college, I'll be missin' her like crazy.

"I promise you'll have fun!" he said, while watching me fix my hair in the mirror. I was gonna let it relax from heat for a minute, so I just decided a high ponytail would do just fine. I used the chunky red scrunchie I owned to prop it up the right way. The weather had gradually gotten better over the past week, so I didn't have to bundle up as I normally did. I went with a plain white t-shirt, light washed Levi jeans, and white Nike Cortez shoes. The check on them was red. Marcus' white, black, and red Nike windbreaker matched perfectly, so I stole it from our closet.

"I'll have more fun here though, baby." I turned to look back at my fiancé. He was laying in the bed with nothing but Calvin Klein boxer briefs on. This was not making me leave any faster.

"Tell you what, you spend the whole day with your sister and I'll have somethin' special waitin' for you when you get back." he smiled. I didn't deserve him at all, really. My sad face eventually turned into a grin. "Oh alright." I said, defeated. I kissed him goodbye and made it to the car. It wasn't much, but Marcus helped me get it, so it was very special to me. It was a simple Volkswagen Golf GTI. I liked it cause it was so small and fit me. Eventually, I made it to my parents' house. Their cars weren't here, so I just assumed they were at work. They just saved me from having to get out my car. I honked the horn twice to let Ayana know that I was outside.

Fifteen minutes passed and her ass still wasn't outside. I honked the horn at least ten times because I was so frustrated. I should've told her lil' spoiled ass to just meet me at the mall.

"I'm comin', I'm comin'!" she yelled out of the front door. Bout damn time!

"What took you so long?" I inquired, curious to know why she didn't come out at the first honks of the horn.

"Momma said I had to wash the dishes before I left." she said lowly.

"What? I couldn't hear you." I cackled. She was grown now, and was finally feeling the wrath. That's why I had to get the hell up outta there. I love my parents like no other, but I couldn't wait to get to college and then get my own pad.

"Shut up, you heard me." she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. I turned up the radio and they were currently playing Come & Talk To Me.

"TOMORROW I SEEEEK, SOMETHIN' TO SET MY MIND FREEEE! 'CAUSE CURIOSITY IS BUGGIN' THE HELL OUTTA ME!" Ayana and I both harmonized. What? I said I liked their album. Many people can sing. But Jodeci? They can SANG. Ever since Piano Key Mouth—I mean Mr. Harrell asked me to pick them up and I ran into Devanté, I've been brushin' up on my research skills.
