"DE?! I KNOW THIS NIGGA DID NOT LEAVE!" I heard Dalvin yelling from the building. He's right, I didn't leave. I just needed to cool off for a minute. Sydney pissed me off thinkin' that she can just come up here and run shit. If I would've known that she was gonna act like this, I wouldn't have recommended her to Dre. It's one thing to do your job, but it's another thing to act like you own shit. I felt bad about leaving my brothers hanging, but damn I mean what was I supposed to do? My genius has never been questioned before, so why now? Sydney came out behind Dal, putting her hands across her head. Even in distress, she was still so damn beautiful. It's not fair.

"Let's just go Dalvin." I could hear the defeat in her voice.

"I'm right here!" I opened the car door and yelled, letting guilt get the best of me.

"Damn. Nigga play too much." Dalvin said while also fussing and cussing. He stomped his way back into the building. Syd just stood there, looking at her nails. I don't know if she was expecting an apology or what. I was tired of apologizing. I was tired of me expressing my feelings being wrong. I was tired of being looked at as the bad guy. Yeah, I'm talkin' to you. You think I'm an asshole for going about things the way that I did. I'm too old to be fronting how I'm feeling. Life's too short for that shit, you know what I'm sayin'?

"Hey..." I trailed off, stuffing my hands into my pockets.

"Are you ready to work now, or what?" she asked while getting straight to the point. My hope for friendly reconciliation was officially crushed.

"Yeah I am. I just don't appreciate the way you think you can come up in here and act like you know shit. Listen to me, I've been doin this shit all my life. I'm open to hearing opinions, but don't criticize something you don't know about." I boldly replied.

See the common misconception about me is that I'm a sucka. Never been, so why start being one now? Don't let the sappy Jodeci songs fool you. Now there's times where I may be a lil' soft, but if you don't stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything. That wasn't true in this case.

"I hear you and I understand. I'm sorry, DeVanté." she nodded. Her demeanor suddenly changed, it was like her whole authoritative persona disappeared. I lightly chuckled to myself.

"That's aight. Just don't try that shit again and I'll have yo ass booted out, you know what I'm sayin'?"
She quickly nodded once again. I could hear her track suit swish as we walked back into the studio doors.

"Are you fucking crazy?!" Dalvin questioned as soon as I stepped foot back into the room.

I chortled, "A little bit." He walked up to me, obviously pissed, and grabbed me by my shirt's collar.

"This shit ain't a game, De! You always damn playin'!" he shouted.

"Chill, chill!" JoJo yelled, breaking him away from me.
