sadie flew across the parking lot in excitement, leaping into the back of caleb's truck, to his surprise.

"well, hi beautiful." he flashed her a stupid grin, and she giggled lightly as she pulled blankets over her.

"hi there. so where are we going today?" she asked with a giant grin. "you said you'd take me somewhere else."

he smiled at her enthusiasm. "i did, and i will. let's enjoy the movie first, shall we?"

she sighed and snuggled into his chest, and he smiled as he stroked her hair gently.

after the movie, the credits had barely started rolling when sadie leaped up, throwing the blankets in the backseat as she hopped in gleefully.

"let's go let's go!" she screeched.

"chill out sadie! are you high?" caleb joked as he started the car and pulled out.

"no," she whispered. "i just really like you,"

he turned to look at her burning red cheeks. "i- i really like you too, sadie."

a slight smile appeared on her face, and she leaned over to kiss his cheek.

"okay, where are we going?"

"hmm, i was thinking something different for today."

sadie stared out the window at the night sky. "like where?"

he smiled and pulled into a parking lot, and they climbed out.

"what the hell? the library?" sadie grumbled.

he laughed. "trust me, sades."

she sighed and took his hand as he led her inside the building, and she smiled a little at the dimly lit lights and rows and rows of books.

"let's make some trouble," he suggested.

sadie giggled and followed him down the aisles.

he picked a book off a shelf and frowned at it. "this looks a whole lot like you, i think."

he held it up next to her face and nodded. "oh yeah, for sure. you must be related."

sadie giggles, and took the book, turning it around to see the girl.

she burst out laughing and dropped the book on the floor, clutching her stomach as tears formed in her eyes.

caleb was cracking up too, as they both looked at the bearded man on the cover of the book.

sadie recovered, grabbing caleb's hand in hers and leading him over to the computers.

they sat down, and sadie typed in, "ugliest animal in the world," and then started to pull up a picture on every single computer, with caleb trying to keep his laughter in.

then she left them all open, and caleb snorted as he followed her.

they wandered into the kids section, and sadie sat at one of the kids tables with a smile, patting the seat next to her.

caleb squatted down in the small chair, grinning. "tell my about yourself, sadie."

she smiled. "um, i'm sadie sink, i love arts and crafts, and... um. my best friend is named millie. you need to meet her sometime. she's pretty cool. she likes partying... we're not really that similar at all." sadie chewed on her lip nervously, glancing up into caleb's comforting eyes. "but.. she's popular. and pretty. and she's dating this boy named finn."

caleb smiled. "she sounds cool. we should have a double date sometime."

sadie smiled back. "i'd like that."

the two stared at each other for what felt like eternity, in silence, their eyes pouring into each other's skin, sadie's hair fluttering softly as her breath moved it, and caleb bit his lip ever so slightly as he watched her fiddle with her hands nervously.

sadie grinned. "wait, tell me about yourself now."

caleb sighed. "well... my name is caleb mclaughlin. i like to read. and people call me popular at school, but who really knows what popular even means, right?"

sadie's eyes widened. "yeah. i mean, stereotypes are a big issue. i like to think outside the box. and not listen to stereotypes."

caleb smiled. "me too, they're kinda stupid."

sadie sighed. "should we get out of here?"

he nodded, and she took his hand as the exited the children's section and headed down the stairs.

"hey! are you not checking out anything?" sadie was surprised to see a girl their age at the counter of the library.

her feet froze up, her body starting to shake when she realized who it was.

"grace... how pleasant to see you here." sadie forced out a smile, raising her eyebrows. her body shook, her heart breaking a little on the inside as the thought about how this girl stole gaten from her.

"hmm. sadie. not that i'd say the same to you..." she sneered at her as she looked her up and down, laughing lightly as her eyes traveled over onto caleb.

her eyes turned a shade darker and sadie narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists as grace slithered over to caleb and put a hand on his chest, pouting up at him. "well, hello."

caleb snorted. "okay, get off me you maniac. you literally just hurt my girl," sadie's heart fluttered as he said my girl, "and you think now you can- i'm out. cmon, sadie."

grace stepped in front of him, a frown crossing her face. "oh please," she flirted. "saying no to me is like turning down a million bucks."

he did a fake smile, then pushed her out of the way. "i'll have to turn down that money, then." he grabbed sadie's hand, and she stumbled after him, shocked, as they exited the library and got back into caleb's car.

they sat in silence for a minute, then caleb spoke. "you don't have to keep hanging out with me. i'm not that cool, and every time we hang out we'll do something different. i like to think it's interesting, but it's stupid. and... i know this is crazy. but so am i." his eyes flitted up and met hers, and suddenly sadie crashed her lips against his.

when they pulled away, sadie smiled softly. "it's okay. i like knowing the world is full of surprises at every turn." she twirled her hair nervously. "in fact... i've had more fun with you these couple nights then i've ever had."

he smiled. "i- w- thank you."

sadie turned the key in the ignition. "next week, i'm picking what we do, okay?"

he laughed. "okay, whatever you say."

hi there! here's a new chapter because it's sunday, and it's not good that i literally finished it this morning.

i have some ideas for this story, but i'm still figuring it all out, so bear with me.
