Moni sat patiently in the cab that was driving in the direction of Shawn's crib. After a whole week of ignoring him, she grew lonely. Deciding to no longer hold her grudge against him, she willingly agreed to having a movie night at his house. She just hoped that Shawn's game antics weren't going to fuck it up, just like at the movies.
She hopped out of the cab once it pulled up on the curb, turning around and waving at the driver. Out of courtesy, he gave her a free ride.
She strolled over to the apartment complex, holding her nose tightly. She wasn't gonna be smelling piss tonight.
Moni made it near the elevator and pressed the button for it to open. Once it did, she stepped in and pressed the button to the fourth floor.
Reaching her desired floor, she waited for the elevator to come to a complete stop before it opened. She stepped out and made her way down the hallway until she reached Shawn's apartment door.
Moni knocked on it 3 times. Seconds later, Shawn answered it, his eyes skimming over her appearance.
Grinning, he grabbed Moni and enveloped her into his arms. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, pressing closer into him. Although she was mad at him, she still missed being in his presence.
Moni nuzzled her head in the crook of his neck. "I missed your annoying ass," she said softly, inhaling his cologne.
"I missed you more baby," Shawn said, kissing her forehead. "I'm sorry for all the trouble I've put you through. You don't deserve to go through shit like that."
"It's okay," She replied, slowly sliding down from him and standing upright with her arms still around his neck. "I'm still mad at you though."
Shawn playfully rolled his eyes. "I'm gonna make it up to you. Best believe that baby."
Pulling her arms down from around his neck, he grabbed her hand and led her into his apartment, closing the door behind them.
They walked into the living room where a pile of movies were stacked high on the coffee table. Next to the pile, there was a whole variety of snacks laid out— Tortilla chips with dipping sauce, Oreo cookies, Doritos, Honey Buns, Candy, and Caprisuns.
Shawn wasn't going to do too much and take her out to a fancy restaurant. He was already stressed that there may have been a couple of people who were on his case and didn't want to risk Moni getting hurt. So, staying low was the best way to go.
Moni sat down on the couch, placing her hands underneath her thighs.
Shawn walked over to the coffee table and picked up a couple of movies from the top of the pile. "Bae, what you wanna watch?"
"Hm," She said, rubbing the back of her neck. "Do you have Baby Boy?"
Shawn skimmed through the pile and found the movie. He held it up so she could see it. "Yeah, bae I got it."
Moni playfully clapped her hands. "Alright, let's watch that."
Shawn looked at the DVD cover and then Moni. "This movie ain't buzz right?"
Moni shook her head. "No, it's not. It's funny as hell.
Taking her word, he walked over to the flat screen TV and turned it on. Then, he placed the DVD in the DVD player and waited for the screen to load. After it came up, he pressed play and walked over back to Moni on the couch.
Shawn sat down next to her, draping his arm around her neck and pulling her closer to him.
Moni laid her head on his shoulder as the movie begun to play. There's nothing more she had wanted than to just be with him in this moment.
