Jah continued to carry Moni all the way down to his car, which was parked on the curb at a safe distance from Shawn's apartment building. He quickly looked both ways before jogging across the semi busy street.

Once he made it to his car, he opened the backseat door and gently laid Moni across the seat.

"You gone make it ma," he said before he closed the door and jogged around the car to the driver's side. "You gone make it."

He hopped in and started up the car without putting his seatbelt on. Jah then took took off down the block, speeding in the direction of the hospital as fast as he could.

Periodically, he'd look at Moni through the rear view mirror, making sure that she didn't slip into unconsciousness.

"'Moni, you straight?" He asked loudly, checking to see if she was going to respond.

"Uhhhh," She moaned, closing her eyes. Jah knew he had to hurry the fuck up.

He sped down the road but was cautious of his surroundings. The last thing he wanted to do was get pulled over by a cop.

Moments later, he arrived at the hospital with Moni. Slamming down on the brakes, he stopped directly in front of the emergency entrance. Jah hopped out of the car and unlocked the backseat door. He took Moni into his arms once again and closed the car door behind him with his foot.

"Ayo, I need a doctor!" Jah yelled as he rushed into the building, cautiously holding Moni. "She been shot, she been shot!"

A couple of nurses who were walking around heard Jah calling out for help and rushed over to him. Their eyes widened in shock. Seeing him cradle an unconscious Moni in his arms, they immediately paged a couple of male nurses who soon came rushing in with a stretcher.

Jah gently placed Moni on the stretcher and watched as they all wheeled her into the emergency room through two double steel doors.

"Damn, this shit crazy," Jah said, running his hands over his face and exhaling loudly. He pulled out a blunt he saved from earlier that night from his pocket and began to light it up with his lighter. He was stressed and needed a smoke. A skinny, old white nurse who was holding a couple of patient folders walked over to him angrily with a scowl on her face.

"No smoking in here!" She scolded, pushing her glasses closer to her face and eyeing him in disgust.

"Man, bitch leave me alone," He said, dismissing her. "I do what I want."

The nurse pulled out her walkie talkie and mumbled into it indistinctly, calling for backup. Not wanting to cause a scene or an altercation, Jah stepped outside with his blunt in his mouth. To his surprise, he saw Rick and his baby momma exit a bright red Camero that was parked near the entrance of the hospital.

He quickly made his way over to Rick, greeting and dapping him up. "Aye, wassup mane?" He turned his attention to Kit, who stood with her hands folded under her breasts and was mad. "Sup Kit?"

"Nun," Kit replied in annoyance. She was mad that Rick was called by Shawn to make sure that Jah took Moni to the hospital safely. She felt that Rick shouldn't be getting involved into other people's business or issues.

"Mane, her ass mad cause she ain't want me to come and I came anyways," Rick said, shaking his head.

"And?" Kit asked, twisting her neck to face Rick. "You always trynna be a hero in other people's business."
