Before I left to see what clues I could find at all the forts, I explored the Castle and city a bit. The Castle is what you'd expect from any castle, but it did have its unique features. The biggest noticeable thing is the giant Dragon skull, handcrafted, hanging over the main entrance of High-King Dagon's castle.
Dragons don't exist in this era, but they are believed to have existed a few thousand years ago and ruled the land as Gods, long before the first humans ever walked the earth. The reason for the skull is to show that this Castle and it's king is ranked highest and it's also a sign of dominance or rule over the land as the dragons once did.
The city is huge and folk are surprisingly friendly, unless you go into the more poor and sketchy parts of the city, which are quite difficult to get to, as those parts are more hidden from the main parts of the city. The city is full of live and you could spend hours and not see or do everything you wanted to. Bards walk around and sing songs or play instruments while performers go around, dance and do tricks and the city lives up to its name as the best city in the continent.
As a werewolf, I don't carry any weapons with me, except for a blade I found in a delve, a small dungeon I discovered in the central region of the continent. I fight mainly with my wolf, but when the target or enemy is weak, I use the blade, as it would be a waste to transform into my wolf for a mere second, just to turn back again.
It was getting late and I decided I'm going to hunt for this threat at night, where my cat senses are higher and my tracking is greater. I always prefer to hunt at night, as I can get around my prey or target easier and stealthier than in the day. I arrived at the first fort and started looking for anything that could help me in my attempt to capture and kill this creature.
It didn't take long and a pair of guards approached me, asking me my business at the fort and warning me that they have their eyes on me, like they're trying to be intimidating, but I guess they're just doing their jobs. I asked around and asked them what they have heard or seen of the creature and gathering more intel on the type of creature I'm dealing with.
The creature was described to have huge claws and sky-blue eyes, with teeth that would bite through any animal as if they were toothpicks. It fought mainly out of the sky by diving down into the guards, smashing them with it's stone like wings and picking the bigger guards up, slinging them into the air and letting them fall to their deaths, a sight that none of them would ever have wanted to see.
The creature was described to be about the size of a baby mammoth, with the shape of a Wildcat and the wings of an eagle. It had a long tail, that would sweep through guards and send them flying into walls or other obstacles and its lion-like mane would stand up, making it look bigger every time it let out it's devastating roar. It has white fur, but stained with blood, blood that has been there for months.
It never takes anything and never eats any of the guards or animals that are around the fort and seems to be hunting down creatures for the sport of it, as if it's showing its strength and mocking them by proving their weakness. From what I've heard, this seems to be a griffin, but they tend to stay away from forts and rarely attack any areas populated with people, and tend to have darker hair and eyes, which really stirred up my curiosity. I spotted a white feather on my way out of the fort and took it with me, hoping it will help with my hunt and give me more information on this creature.
