Later that afternoon, after the wedding planner had gone, Glenn sat in a rocking chair holding Peyton in his arms, while Piper and Leo watched television and Paige dozed on the couch. "It's so peaceful..." Piper commented. "No demonic threats, the babies are sleeping, or at least quiet...this is nice."
"Yes, it is." Leo agreed as he kissed her. Seconds later, the silence was broken by the sound of Peyton sneezing.
"Wow!" Piper yelped as Peyton's pacifier landed on the floor at Glenn's feet. "I think she just lost a lung on that one," Piper announced with a smile as orbs surrounded Peyton and dissipated slowly, leaving a few lingering abroad her tiny body. "Uh, Leo, Piper? Little help?" Glenn pleaded worriedly. "What is it?" Piper inquired with a puzzled frown. "Her whole body...after she sneezed and the orbs came, it just went limp like a rag doll," Glenn gasped. Piper stared, slack jawed, at her niece as the smile on her face, from her somewhat awkward joke, totally turned upside-down. "I didn't mean it literally...I hope that I'm not gaining another deadly power again!" Piper cried out. Paige made a slight movement and groaned at her sister's sudden outburst, as she slipped back away to la-la land, unbeknownst to the tragic worry at hand.
"Honey, you deal in the molecular business; you work through your hands, not your words," Leo assured his wife. "She had orbs surround her and then disappear," Glenn reminded them in a panicked tone.
"There are a few orbs still lingering about her," Leo stated. "They're real faint, but you can see them."
"What orbs? I don't see anything bright or shiny, Leo," Piper said to him. "Me neither," Glenn agreed with Piper. Suddenly, a wailing cry from the sunroom began and ended quickly as orbs descended over the couch Paige was sleeping on, dropping Garrett's tiny frame onto her.
As Paige jumped awake, she frightened Garrett even more, causing his force field to engulf his body, and push his aunt off the couch. "If you wanted the couch Garrett, all you had to do was ask," Paige stated in a monotone voice, directed at her nephew. She looked up at Glenn and her daughter as she lifted herself up and off the ground. "Why are there a few dim orbs around her body? One of them just disappeared," she said.
"You see it too?" Leo questioned in an excited tone. "Yes. What happened?" she demanded. "Somebody start talking or orbing is going to commence," Paige threatened. "Settle down sis," Piper commanded. "Settle down?" Paige queried. "Settle down! My baby is lying, in my fiancé's arms, lifeless, with dim orbs around her! What the hell is going on? And why is Garrett falling on top of me and blasting me with force fields?"
"While you were sleeping, Peyton let out an extremely large sneeze," Piper told her. "One that caused orbs to encompass her body and then fade away and she fell limp," Leo informed her. "I still don't see these other orbs," Piper said. Glenn peeped in, stating, "Me neither."
"They are there right in your face, Glenn," Paige told him in a worried tone. "Leo, why are we the only ones seeing this?" she asked her Whitelighter. "Well, we're both Whitelighters," he answered. "Nice explanation, honey," Piper sarcastically remarked, as she picked up Garrett. "Well, that's the only thing that Paige and I have in common, that I don't with you and Glenn," he retorted defensively. "I'd like to know what woke my son up so frantically, though," Leo added objectively. *Jingle* "The Elders are calling. I'll be back." As Leo orbed out, Piper looked at Peyton's little body.
