I anticipate the bite to happen on my neck, as Amy tries to run from the other side of the clearing, trying to get there in time. All I do is smile sadly at her, knowing that she won't make it in time. Amy already has tears streaming down her face, knowing that a bullet will be in my head soon.

I can feel the zombie breathing down my neck - but the bite never comes. A drop of blood rolls down my cheek as the blood splatters everywhere. I look behind me, seeing a man - or boy, would be a better description - standing behind me, knife in the zombie's head. My eyes are wide with gratitude, fear, and confusion. How did he get here so fast?

The boy had brown ruffly hair, messed up a bit, but we are in a zombie apocalypse. His skin has some acne on it, but it's getting better, His eyes ripple with green and blue, creating a hazel, but his bloodstained glasses cover them up.

"T..thank you.." I say, unable to get the words out. He nods with a grunt before replying.

"Of course, no one deserves to die like that." He says, extending his arm with a smile.

"Ethan!" He smiles.

I was just about to reply my name when Amy slowly comes up beside me, eyes wide, mouth gaping open. "Amy," I ask.

"What's wrong?"

She stutters, barely able to make a word, when Ethan's eyes go as wide as hers.

"Amy?" He says.

"Ethan?"

Their confusion quickly melts into excitement as they both jump up and hug eachother, both rambling on. I stand there awkwardly, teetering on my feet, waiting to realize that I'm being third-wheeled.

"Oh, Ethan, this is my friend Kyla!" She says cheerfully.

"Thanks for saving her life doof." She said cheekily.

He punches her in the arm, when excitement lights up his face again.

"Come back to the group!" He exclaims.

"With Kyla of course." He adds on after a bit of thought.

I look at Amy and head-tild at her, asking if I can come. She nods happily, and I smile.

"Then let's get going, shall we?"

"So this is the group!" Ethan exclaims, a nervous look on his face as he tries to secretly stare at me (although I can tell he's doing it), as of I'd hate them.

Two men, a woman and a cute dog stand before me, all smiling tiredly, but I can tell they're genuine.

One of the men have black, ruffly hair, kind of like Ethan's but more.. curly you could say? He was decently tall, a small stubble appearing on his chin. Amy is eyeing him weirdly, him doing the same back, when Amy suddenly runs up to him and immediately kisses him. I smirk.

"So you're the infamous Mark?" I ask, a sly grin splattered across my lips.

"Infamous, eh?" He asks, cocking an eyebrow.

"Well, I am the girl she complains about you to." I say. He looks shocked, but I already move on.

The next man has brown hair, a hairstyle if Mark and Ethan's hair were to have a baby.

"Nice to meet ya, I'm Sean!" He says, extending a hand. His voice has an Irish accent, a very attractive one.

I shake his hand, smiling just as wide back.

The lady had straight, silky black hair, with black framed glasses surrounding her eyes. I waved hello, and she waved back hello awkwardly.

"Sorry, she's a little shy!" Mark chuckles. I nod in understanding, definitely knowing what she feels like.

I go over to the golden retriever and pet her. Her tags read "Chica".

Suddenly, Jack pipes up. "So Amy, we thought you were dead.." He trails off looking at the floor.

"We escaped just in time," She says reluctantly, not really wanting to chat about the day it all started.

"We tried to find you guys, but it was all lost hope."

"We being..?"

"Me, Kyla and..."

Amy trails off, realizing she was talking to Sean and finally found out the reason he started talking about this in the first place. "Signe." She finishes off quietly, just hoping he wouldn't hear it.

"The Woosh! Thank god she was with you guys, safe! Where is she? I can't wait to see her again!" He beams the widest smile I've ever seen. I look at him closer and finally realize that I recognized him - he was Signe's boyfriend.
