The first thing I noticed when I woke from my unconscious state was that I had a killer head-ach. Groaning in pain I was about to rest my head on my hands only to find out that my hands were tied behind my back. Biting back another groan, I sat up and took in my surroundings, there was no nature, no flowers, no wind, there was nothing just heavy metal, with only a few cracks allowing the sun light to enter this confined space.

“What the fu*k?” I asked my self, shaking my head to help clear it I sat up on my knees, unsheathing my knife which lay in my boot. Twisting my neck to look over my shoulder I proceeded to cut through whatever material was binding my hands. About to cut through the last few threads, I quickly stopped to sheath my knife and turn to what looked like a door just before it opened revealing another jungle man. With the door now open I could hear the voice that was coming from outside.

“We have your spy Commander. Quite dangerous letting her out there with no protection of any kind. I must say I'm surprised.” A voice spoke; it was female but strong, having a clear edge to it. It was the jerking motion which snapped me out of my eavesdropping, as the jungle man from before dragged me out of my metal cage and pulled me into the clearing surrounded by people, well surrounded by jungle people and other people that look more civil, but still dangerous with there soldier/army looking suits.

Whilst I was being dragged forward to the woman at the front, clearly the leader, I noticed that every person had a gun out and ready besides the woman I was being lead to, the man opposite her who’s hair had completely turned grey and a group of other people dressed in civilian clothing standing right at the back on the opposite side of me.

Finally reaching the scary looking woman, the man released his grip on my arm, only for it to be replaced by a stronger, firmer grip. Turning my head to the side I saw a dark feminine hand locked around my upper arm. My eyes traced up the arm until my eyes gazed at my captures face. She didn’t look angry, in fact she looked more smug that anything. As I gazed into her eyes I couldn’t help but smirk at her icy stare, thinking she could intimidate me… ‘What a fool.’ I thought wanting to laugh at her icy stare. Smirking obviously provoked her as her eyes hardened, and jaw locked. From her look and the way she was man-handling me I could tell she was an enemy…meaning the civil looking people before me was probably a possible ally of mine. It may have not looked like I noticed the confusion that flickered through the so called Commanders eyes but I did. The confusion was clear to see but I don’t think any one else noticed it.

“She certainly is an odd one… ran at the first sight of us instead of fighting.” The still unnamed woman stated looking slightly confused, yet smug.

“Well what can I say? that face and that smell just drove me away.” I butted in, smirking as her gaze hardened even further… if that were possible. My smile soon faded however as her grip on my arm tightened. I new I was going to have her hand imprinted on my arm once she decided to let go.  Turning my head back around I saw the confusion flicker in the Commanders eyes once more.

“I thought you new better than to send out some girl to spy on us… without any protection. I think your loosing your touch.”  The woman holding me teased still keeping a firm grip on my arm.        Keeping my eyes forward I allowed my eyes to gaze at the little buildings behind them.

“Don’t you think I would have been prepared for this turn of events? I want the girl Nathanial and you will give her to me.” The still unknown woman stated, sounding pretty sure of her self.

“Why is that Mira? Leah already made her choice; we won’t let her go with you through force.” Nathanial… other wise know as the Commander replied, his voice oddly calm.

“She will come with us. If she doesn’t… your spy is going to get a bullet through her head” the woman that was holding me, ‘Mira’ seethed dragging me to stand in front of her. Felling the cool metal of the gun rest against the back of my head, I felt a sliver of panic stir within me.

“Wait, wait, wait, wait! Don’t I get a say in this?” “NO!” came my response, yelled by the jungle people.

Rolling my eyes at their answer, my gaze flickered over to the Commander and noticed he was about to say something but I beat him to it not with words but my actions were what made him stop. I had pulled the last few strands of my binds apart and quickly turned, throwing my arm out to knocking the gun out of her hands. Whilst doing this I also pulled out my 94 8mm handgun from the back of my jeans, now pointing it at Mira’s head, directly between the eyes.

Having a firm grip on the gun, I stared Mira down. Eyes unblinking and steady hand, I took the time to allow my self to feel amused at every ones shocked expression. Two minutes passed before the first person broke the endless silence.

“Ha that gun’s not going to work. It’s just an antique.” A jungle man in the distance yelled, this turning every jungle person’s expression into one of enjoyment. After hearing this, a smirk slivered its way onto my face, as my eyes glistened with mischief and danger. Taking off the safety on my gun I lowered it and pulled the trigger, a sliver bullet shot out landing at Mira’s feet, glowing in the over head sun light. Proving the gun did in fact work.

The silence that followed was deafening.
