Sometimes the sun beats down on my face, breaking the silence. Its funny how fake this world is, I'm sorry not world, I meant this place. Considering it is one of the few remaining places. Our days and nights are fake. Our summers, winters, falls, springs. It's all fake. Our memories, they don't allow them. Remembering is against the rules. The exact moment someone remembers, I feel the pain. The harsh pain of their memories. Awful unfortunate pain of losing what they had remembered. None of us remember anything for long. They always take it away. It's as if its a brand new life. Unexpected, and lost for what seems like forever. You never know when it's your turn. I'm Ellina Hart, at least that's what they told me. Apparently im special. What am I? A main character in a story book? If we are different, why won't they explain it? I have a few memories, just of my friends. My close friends to be specific. Zero Knight, Ashley Lane, and Dahlia Jean. In fact they're the only people I remember. Unfortunately I struggle to remember anything else. They happen to always be around so it's kind of hard to forget them.
" Ellina?" I can hear A familiar voice speaking from the side of my cell.
"Ash? Is that you?" I wait for a few moments until I hear her confidant snicker before she replied.
" Who else sounds like me?" Her laughter sprung through the walls, it was faint but I could still hear it. It took me a few moments before I could process the question. Honestly she was right, who else sounded like her? It was silent for a few minutes before Ashley's voice broke it.
"Are you coming to dinner tonight? Zero and Dahlia have been asking where you've been. You never seem to answer me either." She wasn't wrong. It had been a few weeks since the last time i'd gone to dinner. At least of what I thought it had been. I purposely didn't answer her all those days before, I didn't have the time. I'm aware that I need to socialize and leave my midnight black, ice like room for once. Unfortunately I do miss my friends. I guess it's decided, I'm going tonight.
" Uh, sure Ashley i'll-I'll see you at dinner tonight." I stutterd. I begin to throw in a fake giggle. I could hear her freaking out, she seems pretty excited that I was coming tonight. I can't let her down. I can't let anybody down. It wouldn't be fair. It was a promise and I keep my promises.
