It was no surprise at who it was, Lily Tae. I knew for a fact it was her, white dress, blonde hair, and she was young enough to be ten.

We  both sung the song over again and this time in the middle of the lulaby she stopped and stared at me with the eyes of an angle. Her lips soft looking, and her skin still a young soft blanket sitting over her flesh and bones.

I walked up to her, calm on the outside but on the inside, it was undiscrbable,I didn't know weather to call the police or  to let her go back into the empty woods, or let her in my house. I knew that if I let this little girl go back into the woods that would be wrong. I would know where Lily was, hidden away in a bundle of trees, for a reason unknown by the town or anyone else.

After standing there for what seemed to be five hours was just five minutes, she spoke to me. But the words didn't come from herr mouth, words were pouring from her eyes. Not by tears, but by expression. From those moments of me drowning in discovery, I started the conversation with, "Lily? Lily, Tae?" she was surprised b/c that was her name, and mostly that I knew it.

She didn't say anything, just frowned and nodded 'yes' at me and with an expression that didn't fit her age. She looked depressed, tired, as if she has been forced to do something she didn't want to.

I walked over onto my porch shawed by the dark blue sky floating above us, with the light of the othger porch lights and the blue moon held by the stars. I gestured her to come sit down in the chair lying infront of me.

She walked over and sat down, properly mannered she didn't lean back or anything she  just said in a soft quiet wisper, "Thank you". That was the first time I ever heard her talk. We stould there for a while and she told me how she knew the song, her mother as well as mine sung it to her at night. Her voice was high like any other young girls voice would normally be.

I asked her to staya moment while I went inside for a second and I walked into the house and when I was totally in  and the door was shut all the way I franticly walked to the phone and called my father while he was sitting in the nursing home down ther street. I stand there waiting for an answer and then an electronic voice came to the drum of my ear, "The Saint Hesnos Nursing Home is now closed for calls, please call back when we open tomorrow at eight a.m." Then a click came to the phone and I relized it was too late at night to to call him.

I quickly fixed a glass of water and rna outside to give it too her. She looked at me bewildered b/c of the slight sweat comming from my brow.

I sat down and watched her take a slow sip of the water and the sweat from the condensation slowly fell into the wood which it then soaked further into the cracks, its journey to escape.

I looked at her and back to the cold glass and back again, she was staring at me with young eyes and cold skin, and she said in a weak voice, "How do you know my name?" I smiled at her and said, "Hunny, you're all over the news, you're now known as the lost little girl of the whole state! They haved claimed you'rve either been kidnapped or killed."

She smiled and said, "Haha, I'm not lost, I know exactly where I am." then she looked towards the forest, "I didn't get killed obviessly." I smiled b/c that was a good thing to comfront the news of over exacterating.

I looked at her now serious and looking at her expression, and said, "Where have you've been, wht have you done to survive."  I looked at her now she wasn't smiling just stared at the woods and said, "There's more to the woods than you people know" I was confused knowing she hasn't been out there long enough to be delutional, she continued, "They have a wonderful supply of food out there." I stopped looking at her and into the woods and said with a shaky voice, "Who are 'they'?"

She frowned and said, "The People is qhat they call themselves..They have a lot of food but we're forced to work for it and forced to come there," she was now looking at me straight in the eye and so was I, " The tell me and the other  children, that are proablly about to be seen missing just like me, The People forced us to runaway or else they'll make our parents d it too."
