Night came and Jude went to the bakery in order to meet with Mary Eunice.
"Jude you are shaking, try to relax"
"She should have been here by now. What if they figured us out and Frank won't bring her in?"
"That will not happen. You two were extra careful, even I wouldn't have noticed if I had remembered to knock the door. Now relax, I hear someone coming." Mary was right once again. Jude inhaled deeply and exhaled in order to calm herself down.
Moments later Frank and Lana appear through the door.
"Here she is Sister Jude. On time as we promised."
"For the hundredth time, we are ten minutes late. You really need to get your watch fixed or something." Lana said with annoyance clear in her voice.
"At least you are here. Now pretend we are on time." Frank said and him and Lana shared a laugh. She was close with Frank over these past two months. They talked in the common room and on their way to Jude's office. "Is there anything else I can do for you Sister?"
"No, that would be all Frank, thank you." Jude was trying to hide the tremble in her voice
"Okay, you know the drill Lana, I'll be here in two hours."
"Thanks Frank, bye" Lana hugged him, both nuns just observed the events while Frank looked at them with a confusing look.
"Yeah, well, bye kid, see you later."
When he left Lana walked towards Jude and they shared a kiss.
"Are you ready dear?"
"Jude, are you sure this is the right way to do this? I mean, we are all the way here. We could get out of this together."
"Lana my love, if they catch us both missing they will know something is up and they will try to find us. You have to go and I promise I will be out and in your arms before you know it."
"But I haven't spent a day without seeing you in the past five months. This will be extra difficult." Lana's eyes were teary but she wouldn't let the tears fall before she left. She wanted to be strong and let the emotions out when she was out.
"I know, I feel exactly the same way, but you have to remember, all this is happening in order for us to be together." Jude leaned in and kissed Lana sofly. "Here are my car keys. In my car you will find an envelop with the hotel information and money to get you going. Now my dear, you need to go."
Lana nodded and turned to Mary. "Mary, thank you very much. I really appreciate what you have done for us and thank you for accepting our relationship, it must have been hard to do."
"Not at all Lana. I can see the love in your eyes and I know true love when I see it. One day I hope I will be as lucky as you two are. I'll see you around"
Lana hugged Mary and then began to walk towards the hidden door in the storage room. Jude was walking behind her, holding hands. Lana kissed Jude goodbye once again more passionately this time. "I'll miss you, I'll be waiting for you. I love you, don't forget that for a second and if you have any second thoughts of coming to find me just tell Mary Eunice, she'll know what to do."
"I love you too Lana, and I would never throw away my chance at happiness like this. I'll be at the hotel in maximum a week."
They hesitated to let go of their grip but it had to be done. Lana brought Jude's hand up to her lips and kissed it softly. "See you soon Judy" and with that she turned and left. Jude didn't want to move from there, she watched as Lana's figure disappeared through the darkness. Minutes have passed and both her and Mary heard the car engine, a noise which fainted away moments later.
