It was really all a blur.
There was movement, and guns, and the thoughts in my head that I swore to god were going to pull me under the surface.
I knew. I knew for certain that the plan was going to fall through. It almost always does, the only reason we were still standing up to this point was mainly because at least Shiro knew when to retreat.
But something was vaguely different in his eyes today, a fire, a passion, a feeling that rose above all else. He didn't seem to care when Pidge fell.
He simply kept on firing.
I screamed at him, for the fact that he could just let one of his teammates, one of his friends, die like that. I could tell she was still alive, the breathing that echoed through my speakers was definitely hers.
And it was slowing down with each passing second.
"Shiro!" I shouted, the anger and heartbreak obvious in my voice.
"Lives must be sacrificed for the greater good of the universe." He replied in a monotonous voice.
Shiro... I remember thinking in disbelief. H-how could he?! He loved her, he was like a brother to her for quiznaking sake!
I turned to go help her when Shiro growled through the speaker. "Don't you dare, Lance. This fight isn't over yet."
"But Pidge-"
I saw his face seem to glitch out in the moniter in front of me. From Shiro to G...
Galra?
"You're not Shiro!" I cried in utter disbelief.
The Galra chuckled, expelling the Shiro form and returning to his true one. "You thought Shiro had been alive all this time?"
My eyes widened. "No..."
"He's dead, Lance. And now, Zarkon will finally rule the universe!" He cackled maniacally, another Galra appearing on his monitor. "Rozar, inform Zarkon that the fight is over, and he has won."
"Of course, Quarzon. Repetsuar."
"Repetsuar." The Galra repeated, exiting from the chat.
"Where's Hunk and Allura?" I spat out to him, grabbing my beyard forcefully.
"Oh, Lance. I thought you knew, they're most likely resting with Pidge at the bottom of that planet."
All the anger that had built up within me had finally released itself, I exited my lion, and boosted myself all the way up to the black lion's position in the stars.
I knocked at the black lion's entrance.
"If you ever cared about Shiro, you'll let me in. I need to kill this Galra bastard."
The black lion seemed to hesitate for a moment, before opening it's jaw and allowing me inside.
The Galra turned, confused yet fearful. "How did you-"
"This is for Shiro!" I cried angrily, swinging my beyard across his cheek, sending him to the ground.
Quarzon turned, attempting desperately to find his weapon, when I growled.
"And this is for my friends."
I sent my beyard down into his chest, abnormal purple colored blood oozing out from his wound.
The reality of everything that had just happened finally sunk in, and I collapsed.
They're dead... They're all dead...
"No!" I screamed, tears falling down my face.
"Everyone... They're all gone."
But, why does it feel like it's my fault?

I must have passed out while the black lion was being captured by the Galra leaders. I remember thinking of how I could've changed the outcome of this fight, but nothing came to mind.
I wanted to die.
There was honestly nothing left for me to live for, my friends were dead, the universe would be practically nonexistent under Zarkon's control.
I thought it couldn't become any worse.
I was mistaken.

I awoke to bars, purple glowing bars that stood in front of my vision. I tried to keep the images that went to my brain from getting blurry, as they were being right now.
"Hello?" I whispered. The halls were so quiet, my voice seemed to echo off the walls.
Halls? Purple glowing bars?
I snapped awake to find my fear was correct. I was in a Galra prison cell.
I shook the bars with all the force I could muster, but no avail. These were impenetrable cells, even the equipment guarding the cell couldn't be affected.
Oh god...
I suddenly realized.
Who am I with in here?
I knew that the more "dangerous" prisoners were kept with the most feared creatures.
Considering I killed a more higher ranking Galra official, I'm sure Zarkon wouldn't take that lightly.
I turned hesitantly to a sleeping figure. I instantly saw the yellow paladins uniform, and whispered out in shock.
"Hunk?"
