Chapter 6: The Apprentices

"Wait what. No no no no no no no. Why me. I won't be good at killing people." said Alesha.

"Please. She won't kill anyone I can tell just by looking at her." said a voice from the rafters.

"Who was that." asked Alesha as she was looking into the rafters.

"I'm down here now." said the boy.

"Hi there. I'm Alesha." Alesha said to the boy. He was most likely her height(5'7"). Same colored hair(black). Eyes like the sun.

"I know who you are but that doesn't mean I have to like you or respect you." The boy replied. He almost had a different tone every time he said a word.

"Maybe you want to tell me your name." Alesha said with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"Not particular but I probably should. I'm Hunter." he replied.

"Well I better leave you two to get to know each other." said Gilgamesh as he was strolling away.

"Ah wait ah. I hate when he just walks away from me. You know how to hold a dagger the correct way right." inquired Hunter.

"Uh no." acknowledged Alesha.

"Well then I guess I will have to teach you then won't I." remarked Hunter.

"How are you going to do that." enquiried Alesha.

"This way." Hunter said as he threw a dagger right for her head. She caught it with the speed of a reaper killing a person.

The dagger felt so natural in her hand that is was like moonlight on the water. It was like holding a feather in her hand. "Why did I catch this with ease?" Alesha asked.

"Your better then I was when I first started. You caught that with ease because you are a born reaper." Hunter replied. 

He was that boy in the reaper group that always won in the battles. Well now he has some competition.

"No I'm not. I'm not a reaper. I never wanted to be a reaper. I only wanted to be a normal human being in this weird world that we call home." Alesha shouted at Hunter. "I can't believe that you would join a program like this. Why would anyone want to kill people."

"Why does the population only go down because of us. The normal people just couldn't keep their hands out of death. They had to play god." Hunter replied angrily. "They had to make a cure for death. Why do we need a cure for death anyways. It make no sense."

"So that we can live with our family longer. Don't you have a family?" Alesha asked.

"No I never knew my family. I never wanted to know them. They abandon me at this house and Gilgamesh has been my father pretty much. So no I don't know what it is like to have a family. I never knew anyone except for Gilgamesh." Hunter screamed.

"Oh well I do have a family. They worry about me. Today was a school day for me and I am suppose to be at my house right now. They probably called the cops by now." Alesha yelled back. " So now that we got that out of the way I am leaving."

She was still holding the dagger. So she turned around to throw it at Hunter but he wasn't there. She thought he had probably went to train. However when she turned around he was in front of the door. "If you want to leave. You will have to kill me." he said.
