It seemed like any other day, it was boring, the same thing every day with no changes in any schedule. It was Monday morning and Sam was on his way to school, he walked through the busy streets. There were the never-ending sounds of cars and people completing their routines, no change, no difference to any other day. He looked to his side and saw a small cat walking next to him, it was pure white and its fur seemed to reflect the sun as it walked next to him. He tried to think nothing of it and continued on his way. He soon reaches the school, he looked up at the tall school made of brick and painted metal, in the front there was a giant clock, the bell soon let out its loud toll of time. Signaling the need for school to begin, he looked again to his side to see that cat had not followed him here. He quickly made his way into the school, the hallways were crowded and loud, the smell of food wafted through the halls from teachers classrooms as they ate their morning breakfast. The lights of the hall were bright as if natural sunlight poured through them. He reached his locker and put in his combination "20-10-0" He mumbled to himself as he turned the knob of the locker to the numbered digits. His backpack was put into the skinny locker and he got his things out for his day, soon making to his classroom.
The same day, same schedule, a never changing life. Once he made it inside of his classroom he was hit with the scent of flowers, the smell of lavender and wildflowers were always strong in this room, his teacher Ms.Rupert always had a thing for strong smelling flowers. He took his seat next to the window in the front of the class, the light shined through the window illuminating the surface of the desk and its surroundings. Students made their way into the classroom with no indication of hurrying on their faces, the sounds of their shoes hit the floor and altogether sound like a herd of loud animals. They slowly but surely made it to their desks after talked with their friends, the room soon silencing enough to hear a small pin drop onto the hard floor. The usual bell tolled meaning the start of class, he looked up to the front of the class to see Ms.Rupert still had not arrived, this was the usual. Ms.Rupert was usually late for first class in the morning, he looked in the front row of the class to see one girl looking rather impatient, this girl was Sapphire. She was the top of the class, considered the perfect girl from all of the boys, her hair was put up in a bun but her hair was so long that it had some coming off the back like a ponytail, it was a black with light blue highlights. Her skin was lightly tanned and she wore dark blue glasses that contrasted her light sea eyes, you look into her eyes and you could be lost in them like an abyss, a never-ending tide pool. Her clothes were strange, they were a school uniform she had from her past school, she wore a blue sweater jacket over her uniform to keep her warm.
Sam soon realized he was staring and looked back outside, he nearly jumped out of his seat seeing the white cat at the window again, it's red eyes piercing him like a dagger, not with anger but coldness. Its eyes seemed to be hollow, something that would stare at you to grab the strings of your soul. He got settled again in his seat and stared back at the cat, hearing something walk into the class he looked away and back to the front. Ms.Rupert had walked into the classroom, her heels clicking against the floor as she took each step. Sapphire agitated face didn't change, she was obviously upset with the teacher's tardiness it was obvious she was trying her best to not stand or yell at Ms.Rupert. Ms.Rupert had made her way to her desk, she wore very perky clothes, very bright and bold. She wore a pastel yellow floral dress, and a necklace with a daisy charm on the end, her shoes were short pastel pink heels. Her eyes were a dull hazle but still held life in them, her skin was pale but sun-kissed. "Very sorry be being late kids!" She said cheerfully, "There was some traffic getting here so I'm much later than usual." her voice was carefree and light as if she did not have a care in the world. Ms.Rupert soon started with attendance, Sam soon started to grow bored and to daydream, he thought about random things in his mind that kept dancing around, things that had no real meaning to himself but were still things to think about.
He stared at the desk and thought about the indentions in the wood."Samuel... Samuel!" his teacher's voice snapped him out of his trance, "Yes mam?" he answered back hurriedly. Ms.Rupter shook her head at him "Honestly Samuel I could smash pans in your ear for roll call and you still wouldn't pay attention." she let out a small laugh before calling on the next person, Sam let out a small sigh of relief that he wasn't in trouble for anything. His gaze wandered back to the window, only to see the cat had left him, all that he could see was the nearby road next to the school and the trees that surrounded the sidewalk. Ms.Rupert was quick with attendance so the class had soon started. His classes had passed by quickly so now it was time for lunch, picking up his things before walking out of class he headed to his locker to put them away. He walked through the busy hallway, he was about to open his locker when someone bumped into him, the one who would turn his world around.
