Roses are red Violets are blue I need to throw out this old tune And come up with something new
You see Not all roses are red They have different meanings too But red is the most popular Yes I have experienced it too
Red brings Assurance to the insecure A smile to the unhappy Comfort to the lonely Love to the smitten
But they can also be used to deceive Mask true intentions We focus on their beauty Their self defined meanings We concentrate on the beauty of their petals And ignore the blade of their thorns
Well that is until we stumble upon them Only when we bleed Do we realize that under all those layers of beauty there is danger
But because we choose to focus on the beauty We miss the thorns which are out in the open Only now that I'm bleeding and bruised Do I see the clear signs of what I chose to ignore If only I had taken time to look beyond your beauty I wouldn't be where I am today.
