So again,
Here I am with an amazing chapter, and with a great anime to.
Read ahead, oh, and SPOILER ALERTSo..
Before I start this chapter, I want to talk about how I believe that this anime is the best anime of all time. You may disagree and claim Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, etc. I just personally believe this, you do not have to agree with me and through my own personal collection from watching not only these 4 anime but countless others, I believe that FMAB just had the best plot, storyline, character, and story arcs. I mean, the show only has 1 filler episode out of its 64 episode airing.
Anyways...Edward "Ed" Elric x Winry Rockbell
So, this is really the main ship of the anime (that actually happens).
Ed and Winry were friends since childhood and it has been shown that Ed has always had a thing for Winry. An example of his attraction to her, even from a young age is when Alphonse (Al) recalls a memory in which Al and Ed fought over which brother would marry Winry, they both fought until Al won, Winry rejected him. This shows though, that Ed may have been a child but he still had an undeniable attraction to her.
From the beginning of the series Ed and Winry had a very platonic yet sometimes flirtatious relationship. With Ed being introduced as an alchemy protegee and Winry as the aspiring mechanic, they always had a noticeable chemistry. Winry was gone for a good portion of the anime, being trained in the "AutoMail Heaven".
During the climax of the shows plot, when Ed and Al were in Briggs, Winry reentered the story, to fix Ed's mechanical body parts. You can here as Winry is fixing his automail, "Why did I have to fall in love with such a weirdo." In which Ed hears her mumble, but does not know what she says, she notices that he heard something and blushes profusely. The thing that made her say this was Ed realizing the proximity of their closeness, causing him to blush, look away, and state the periodic table.
By the end of the series, fans had been very anxious to see whether or not this couple would get their happy ending (anxiety formed by the not-so-happy ending for them in the original anime). Fans were shocked and happy to see after the time lapse shown in the show, before Ed leaves to go explore the bounds of alchemy, Winry sees him off. Ed realizes before leaving, that he must proclaim his love. In one of the most cheesy and beautiful speeches of this anime Ed quotes, "Equivalent exchange you give me half of you're life and I will give you half of mine." To where he blushes greatly and Winry responds with, "You dummy, why can't I just give you all of my life." She then stammers and starts giving out percentages to where Ed smiles. The two kiss right before he gets on the train, leaving both a blushing mess and a memorable thought to end with.......
The ending sequence shows pictures from throughout the lives of the characters after the ending of the show, the last picture shows a proud Ed hold his little son and Winry cradling their daughter, the picture also shows Al and his girlfriend (will be discussed later) and a friend Winry had met while working in Rock Valley.
