Chapter 18

The next day, Kara woke up earlier than usual from a wave of nausea. She unwrapped Mon-El's arm from her torso and ran to the bathroom so she can Empty her stomach. After finishing, she weakly stood back up and looked at herself in the mirror. She was pale and there were heavy bags under her eyes. She groaned to herself as she threw her hair up in a careless bun then brushed her teeth. Kara walked back into the room and looked at the time. It read '8:10'; not a decent amount of sleep for a Saturday. Knowing that Alex was an early bird, she quickly texted Alex. 'Hey, can we meet somewhere for breakfast? I need to talk to you.' She didn't have to wait long as a ding went off. 'Sure! Is everything okay?' Kara typed and erased a couple things not knowing what exactly to send before texting back. 'Honestly I don't know. It'll be easier to talk to you in person.' After a reply, Kara threw on her signature yellow dress that she wore when Barry Traveled to her earth. One of the perks she liked about being an alien was that she barley got cold. She wrote a note and kissed her husband's cheek then left the house. She didn't bother flying for some reason. Most days, she enjoyed the weather. Fall was her favorite. The trees remained clothed in green until the middle of October and then all of a sudden were a riot of colour. It was as if the season jumped into the park instead of fading in as it usually would, and was all the more magnificent for doing so. Upon the newly softened mud were the acorns - from green to pale brown, none yet the rich hue of children's story books. The air was cooler with a tincture of earthiness and Kara loved it all. She snapped back into reality when she reached the small diner where she was meeting Alex for Breakfast.  She sat down in a booth and ordered a sticky bun and a coffee for Alex. Not a moment too soon, Alex entered the diner and also sat down after spotting her sister. "So is everything okay?" She asked, very concerned. Kara shrugged her shoulders. "I think I might be pregnant." She whispered. Alex almost spit out her coffee. "Have you done any tests?" She asked. The younger sister shook her head.

"No but I've been eating more than I usually do, and this morning I threw up. I don't get sick." She explained. Alex nodded and grabbed her hand from across the table. We can go pick up a few from the market then you can take them at my apartment. You'll be comfortable there." She told her. Kara sighed softly. "Thank you." She said grateful. Alex took another sip of her coffee and nodded again. "Of course." Later on, the two were back at Alex's apartment with five tests. Kara grew anxious as she went to the bathroom and used the tests. Sure her and Mon-El wanted more kids but was it too quick? They've tried so much to make this happen and Kara hoped that this was it. That this was the moment where she realized she had a mini her or Mon-El growing inside of her for the second time. She put her thoughts aside and washed her hands then sighed again as she walked out of the bathroom where Alex was waiting for her. "We just have to wait and see now." Kara stated. The jingle of keys interrupted the silent moment and Maggie walked in. "Hey babe I'm home oh! Hey little Danvers! Is everything ok?" She asked as she took her keys off, threw her leather jacket which contained her badge on the couch and walked over to the two. Noticing how nervous Kara was, Alex spoke up. "There's a possibility that she's pregnant." She told her wife. Maggie smiled wide, her big dimples showing. "Really? That's amazing little danvers!" She exclaimed and hugged her. "I'll have another mini you or Mon-El to spoil and train to be a badass like your sister and I." She said with a smug. Alex rolled her eyes. "We're not sure if she's pregnant yet. The tests have the answer. Remember that." She reminded her. Maggie nodded. She then went over to the kitchen to get a beer. "Kara are you Thirsty at all?" She asked. The alien cleared her throat. "No thank you mags. I'm too anxious to drink anything." She answered. A moment later, Kara perked up as the timer on Alex's phone went off meaning it was time to find out if she was pregnant or not. Kara prayed to Rao for whatever the tests showed, Everything would be ok. She went into the bathroom and looked at the tests. "Oh my Rao! I'm pregnant!"
