"Bro?" I heard Axel say to me during Geometry.
After the incident Friday night and the confrontation on Saturday morning, my mind was going all over the place. I honestly never would've thought that Joey was gay. Or bisexual? He never answered my question on Saturday. All he did was have that smug smile plastered on his face, which irritated me. Was he playing around, or was he serious? Why was he messing with my emotions like that?
Why the hell do I even care? It wasn't like I was into him. That "almost kiss" that happened was unexpected. He didn't plan it. But what about all of those feelings that came over me? I'm pretty sure they were nervous feelings. Feelings of shock. Right? There was no way those feelings were out of lust. Were they? They couldn't have been. I mean, I'm straight. There no way I could be-
"Isaiah! Bro!" I heard Axel say, this time bringing me back to reality. "Are you alright?"
"Y-y-y-yeah, I'm alright Ax. Just a long weekend you know?" This statement was more than true.
"Did something happen?"
"N-no, just a long weekend. Didn't get a lot of sleep. Teachers giving homework over the weekend really stressed me out and I had a lot to do with the family and you know how my mom gets crazy at the country club and always needs my help and-"
"Isaiah," Axel muttered, cutting off my rambling, "are you sure you're okay?"
I took in a deep breath and let out a long sigh. "Just a lot on my mind. I'm alright though."
"You want to talk about it?"
"That's alright bro. It's no big deal." And we left it at that.
Lunch was just about the same.
"Isaiah, staring off into space means something is wrong. What's up?" Jasmine asked.
"I never told you what happened at the party and after the party." I barely managed to say above a whisper.
"It's nothing bad, is it?" Jasmine's voice started to fill with worry.
"No. Well, I don't think so. I don't know." I threw my face in my hands and let out a deep sigh. Why was this effecting me so much?
"Isaiah," said Jasmine as she put her hand on my shoulder, "I'm sure it's not that bad. Just tell me. You know I won't judge." I took my head out of my hands and looked at Jasmine, who was giving me a reassuring smile.
I don't know what I would do without her. "Joey took me to the homecoming dance and we were at our different areas in the country club, at first. Then when I make my way to the dance floor, he drags me with him and we start dancing." I stopped myself.
"Is that all?" Jasmine asked.
"No, it was the way we were dancing. Apparently someone spiked the punch because I smelled alcohol on his breath. We were close, too close for comfort. Then, next thing I know, we were grinding, and-"
"Oooooo! Isaiah!" Jasmine beamed. "Two guys grinding?! Was no one else paying attention to you guys?!"
"I think everyone else was too tipsy to pay attention." I chuckled to myself. "But it was the way we were dancing. It was, intimate in a way. I didn't mind it though..." My voice started to trail off.
"Is that all?" Jasmine asked. "What about after the party?"
I let out a long sigh. "After we were done dancing, Joey went off somewhere. About an hour later I was ready to go, but I couldn't find him anywhere. I went into the bathrooms and he's in one of the stalls knocked out. I basically had to drag him out of the country club. Corinne saw me and she was mad because she was planning another get together for us at her house, which basically meant she wanted to go all the way. I told her that I needed to take Joey home, and she got all butt hurt. I basically had to take Joey by the hand and take him home. When we finally reached our houses, he realized he didn't have his house keys and his parents weren't home. So, I had to let him sleep in my room. He went upstairs and I got him water. I go up to my room and set the water on my desk..." I stopped myself as my mind was replaying the moments.
