There was a moment of silence as the kids processed the possible reality of one of them becoming a hero. Truly the silence lasted a longer than it should have. Every kid was scared, nervous, exited, and wanted to prove they were the best. Some would go any length to do it.

"When do we start?" A girl in the back of the class broke the silence, her hair was a dark green, looking more like vines. Her name was Evelyn, not completely a class favorite, but loved by many. She was tall, pretty, her eyes shinned like emeralds and she had milk skin. Her ability impressed the class, her hair somewhat did grow like vines, but she could do the same thing with her body as well.

Though like every hero there's a weakness, her hair has to be healthy, hydrated, and long, if not she won't be able to use her ability and she will become weak.

"Well, we can start now. Though I need to talk about some things." Shooting Star paused "You will get only one chance to prove to me you are fit for the Hero Academy. It doesn't matter how strong your ability is, you have to be able to use it correctly." The students nodded their head "Good! All of you have an equal possibility of getting into the academy" Shooting star said, trying to encourage the aspiring heroes.

"I know one of us isn't getting in..." One of the students whispered in the back of the class "Because one of us doesn't have an ability..." Other students couldn't hold in the laughter causing a disruption. This girl's name was Violet, her hair was wavy and a light electric blue fitting her ability quite well. Unlike Evelyn she was definitely the classes favorite, and the strongest as far as anyone knew.

Autumn had always wondered how the girl who torments everyone is the most popular. She turned around to see her antagonist staring straight at her with cold grey eyes and the most unsettling smirk. Autumn gulped nervously turning back around to face shooting star, though she didn't want to see her either.

"Okay now, let's not be rude, even though this is a competition insults are not required" Shooting star said "You don't need an ability to be a great hero" she looked Autumn in the eyes and winked. "Now, let's go outside shall we?"

All the students lined up in a row, all nervous, all wanting to be the best. "So much for competition" Violet scoffed, whispering towards Evelyn. "Some of these abilities are worthless, and one class member doesn't even have an ability. I'm sure to come out on top." She laughed under her breath, Evelyn gave her support agreeing with every word she said. No one was able to tell if everyone actually liked Violet, or they were just too scared of her to say anything.

The first person stepped up, he handed shooting star a ball asking her if she could throw it as far as possible. The kid watched the ball fly through the air, passing houses and landing on the ground somewhere unknown. he stared at one area, his arm beginning to stretch, his skin was like rubber, a few seconds later he retrieved the ball and his arm went back to its normal size like it was elastic.

Most of the students clapped, maybe not the most impressive ability but it was still amazing to watch. He went to the back of the line letting out a sigh of relief. Violet folded her arms, rolling her eyes at him snickering.

Autumn watched Violet as she had acted like everyone was below her with all of the other students. It was going to be her turn soon, she tapped Via on the shoulder "Come with me to the back" she said, the nervousness clear in her voice. Autum began pulling via along
"What? Autumn no, we're about to go" Via said taking her arm away from Autumn. "This is your chance to prove everyone wrong, take it." She walked back to her place in the line, leaving Autumn standing alone. She walked to the back of the line getting behind Violet trying not to speak a word or make herself seem present.
