You felt a familiar feeling when you put on your tight black dress, it was almost even the same length too.

You looked in the mirror but instead of seeing a scared out of her mind freshman you saw a strong independent married woman who wasn't afraid to speak her mind anymore.

You had gone through so much the past 3 years, yet the first time you met Amari felt like yesterday.

It felt nice going out with her again, partying, getting drunk, her ditching you for some guy.

You looked in the bathroom to see her applying mascara on her long black lashes and you smiled, it felt so nice.

"Hey creep do you have a problem?" you were taken out of your trance by Amari's witty comment on your staring.

"I'm just so happy. This reminds me of the old days..."

Amari stopped applying makeup and looked down at the sink while her lips curved into a bittersweet smile.

"Ugh we were so stupid. Why is everyone so stupid when they're young?" she complained.

You shrugged "It's just they way we were made I guess." you came from behind her and wrapped your arms around her waist as you laid your chin on her shoulder.

You both stared at yourself in the mirror.

Like earlier, the reflection was much different.

A good different.

"Okay okay, enough reminiscing. Let's go get wasted!! I still can't believe you never had a Bachelorette party?"

"Well you know, me and Tae we're going through a lot of shit back then."

"Back then? Honey it's about to be a whole new kind of shit now that you moved in together." Amari said as she grabbed her coat and purse.

"What do you mean 'whole-new-kind-of-shit' Mari?" you stopped dead in your tracks

She started to laugh until she turned around and saw you just standing there realizing you were serious. "Do I really need to spell it out for you?"

"Yes."

"Okay W-H-O-"

"You know what I'm talking about dumbass." you said cutting her off.

"Okay, you guys are gonna face more difficulties now that you live together that's all."

"But we've been living together, this is just a house."

"What do houses represent? Family, settling in, no more adventure no more 'fun'. You guys will be tied down, at first it'll be hard but you'll get used to it. I'm just saying right now, you're going to have more issues ahead." she said turned around and leaving you in the dorm alone.

"What does she mean 'more issues'"

Drink. Dance. Sing. Repeat.

You were having the time of your life not having to report to someone about your essays or what presentations you had ready for the Tribe representatives. Finally you could cut loose and have some quality time with your best friend.

"Um, Mina. I'll be back I have y'know." Amari said as she stopped you from your partying and pointed to some male standing behind her.

"Ah it's okay, I'm not that drunk anyway. You guys can take a cab, I'll take your car back."

"Thank you SO much, you're a real lifesaver." she said as she kissed you on the cheek and disappeared with the man into the crowd.

She was truly something else, but she was your something else

and that's why you loved her.
