Michelle's P.O.V:

"Alright... so start talking... what happened?" Hector asked.

"Okay..." Francisco said before taking a deep breath, "So Michelle and I were working on Calculus, then suddenly some guy jumped another guy and started mauling his face off, quick on our feet, we went to get Kaylani and Sara from their softball game, after shooting you guys all a text to meet at the office that is. After we picked them up and dealt with some resistance, we left Overfelt when more of the things that mauled the guy came to Overfelt and attacked the students and parents who were at the game, we left Overfelt and after making sure none of them followed us, we went to a Pharmacy and Grocery store and got these." Francisco explained.

"Whoa Whoa time out!" Adriana said, "So you're telling me that things attacked Overfelt and you just ran away?" She asked.

"Well I wasn't going to put Michelle, Kaylani, and Sara in danger... and besides I hated everyone in Overfelt anyway...aside you guys." He said.

"But..." Adriana said but Francisco raised his hand to stop her there.

"Look... my main priority is you guys, if I got to sacrifice others to keep you all safe then it's fine by me." He said.

With a look of concern Francisco continued, "So time for business...we need to split off into three teams, Team One will be in charge of barricading the front, so the only way in and out is the back, which is where Sara and Kaylani's cars are at, in case we need to abandon the office, Team two will be in charge of organizing our food and medical supplies so we know where they are when we need them, and team 3 will be with me to explore the remaining offices to see if there is anything we can use." Francisco said.

Everyone began splitting off into groups.

Group 1 consisted of Muhammad, Virginia, Sara, Angel, Lan, Hector, and Adriana.

Group 2 consisted of Lamia, Jasmine, Kaylani, Estrella, Michelle, and Mireya.

"Well looks like you're stuck with me." Francisco told me as he handed me...a gun?

"You know how to use that right?" He asked with a smile like he knew the answer.

"What?! Of course not!" I yelled freaking out at the weapon in my hand.

"Well looks like I need to teach you later..." He said as he picked up his empty backpack and tossed me mine, "Now let's go." He said.

The offices...were empty...even the church next door was empty.

On the plus side at least the bakery had some fresh loaves left over after it was abandoned...actually quite a bit.

"This should last us a week..." Francisco said gently placing the warm breads into his backpack.

All the other offices didn't hold much a few scraps of food and a half full bottle of Tylenol, but other than that nothing.

We headed back with our bread and Tylenol in backpack, and the barricading was done, and the food was sorted away, along with our bread and Tylenol we found.

"Alright...now that that's all done and done, it's time to-." Francisco said until my phone went off...it was Sierra?

"Hello?" I asked as I heard a sigh of relief.

"Oh Michelle thank God you're alright...I'm stuck at Independence with Nicole...and these pale things are surrounding the classroom." She said...oh no.

Before I could respond Francisco grabbed his pistol, "Tell Sierra I'm on my way." He said walking out of the office...until I gripped his wrist.

"I'm coming with you..." I said as he looked at me in the eyes.

"You sure you're ready for this?" He asked.

"I need to get Sierra out of there." I said as he smiled.

"Alright, grab Steve and let's go." He said.

I grabbed the drawn all over stick I grew accustomed to, and lifted the phone to my ear.

"We're on our way." I said as she sighed with what I think is relief.

"Okay we'll stay here...just hurry." She said as she hung up the phone.

We headed to Independence...and Sierra was right, it was surrounded by those things.

"Alright... there is a break in the fence... but there are infected all around it." Francisco explained in a whisper.

"So what do we do?" I asked in the same volume.

Francisco looked around...then found a medium sized stone.

He picked it up and gripped it, "Watch this." He said as he threw it at a car window, all of them lifted their heads in alarm and limped towards the sound.

"Just as I thought...they only react to sound." Francisco whispered as we crawled through the break in the fence, "Did Sierra tell you where the room is?" He asked.

"No she didn't but I can send her a text." I said as he nodded.

"Alright... but keep your notification alarm muted." He advised.

I nodded muted my notification sound and texted her what room she was in.

A few seconds later she told me it was room F-203.

"Alright...let's go, but try not to make a sound." He said as I nodded.

We slowly made our way to the F-Wing, throwing rocks at windows to distract...you know what I'm calling them the infected, to distract the infected.

I softly knocked on the door trying to not get the infected's attention.

Sierra ran to the window, "Quiet down, these things hear by sound." I whispered as she nodded, "Where is Nicole?" I asked as she walked next to her.

"Alright, let's go." Francisco said as they climbed out of the window.

We sneaked around the infected, luckily the only see through sound or else we might not have been able to save Sierra and Nicole, we headed back to the office and entered through the back.

"Oh you're back did you get Sierra and Nicole?" Mireya asked as they stepped into the office.

"Oh Nicole you're alright." Mireya said running to hug her friend.

"So wait why were you in detention?" Francisco asked.

"Oh...it's a long story, but to shorten it, it was because I stole some food..." Sierra said as she dumped the contents of her backpack onto the ground, "They got mad and gave me detention...for a few weeks, but now it doesn't matter." Sierra said as Nicole stepped in.

"I was there to supervise while the Teacher that was there left to check on...a glass shattering or something." Nicole said...I'm staying silent on that one.

"Well great we'll organize that later...but for now there is one more thing we need to do." Francisco said as he pulled out a white board, "Who's going to be on night watch...since I take AP Chem and don't need sleep anymore I'll take first watch...anyone want to do it with me?" He asked.

...Why not, I took the marker and wrote my name next to his.

"Nice, alright all y'all can do whatever you want." Francisco said.

Everyone broke off to do their own things, then Francisco tapped my shoulder.

"You should probably take a nap, so you can stay awake for night shift." He suggested.

"Yeah sounds nice...what about you?" I asked as he shrugged.

"I'm going to call Long Beach, Oakland, and Fresno to see how they are doing." Francisco said walking away before I can probe more information out of him.

Well I'm tired anyway...so a nap will do me good.

I laid on out stiff couch, God we need to get a new one, and slowly went to sleep.
