My body jolted awake fighting to end the vision, it was 5:30 AM Instead of getting ready for school I just sat there thinking Please don't be real, please don't be real, who was that and why is this happening. Maybe it was just a bad dream people have those all the time... Right?
I finally built the strength to get up and prepare for school. When I got to school I kept to myself, The day went by slow. I couldn't focus on anything, all I could do was replay that awful scene in my head. Mark and I walked together silently through the hallway to our third block, he kept glancing down at me nervously. he started walking closer to me trying to read what was wrong, his hand grazed over mine for a second. I looked down towards what he was doing confused, he immediately moved further way. I looked up at Mark who towered over me and he looked away then glanced back at me awkwardly. He tapped my shoulder and we stopped walking and I looked back up at his brown eyes. He gave me a sad look and asked,
"are you mad at me?" I looked at him shocked and realizing I've been distant towards him all day.
"No! not at all! I've... just had a rough morning." He looked at me unconvinced but dropped the conversation.
"Ok, well I'm gonna head to class see you later."
"okay, see yeah," I said softly and walked by myself cussing at myself for being such an asshole and totally forgetting how this could be affecting him.
The day was almost done. Just one more hour Emily you can do this, I thought to myself. I started walking to lunch and Mark was with me he was obviously bothered by something but before I could say anything to him he stammered,
"What's wrong with you, you've been quiet all day?" I looked up at him and smiled but my eyes were frowning.
"I'm ok, just stressed about schoolwork." As we were talking and not paying attention we bumped into someone.
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't see you...... there," I said while stammering while looking up towards who I ran into. It was a tall guy with shiny hair pushed over to the side.(AN: If you are a Markiplier fan(Comment if you are!!) just picture that hair hehe)
"No, no it's ok I wasn't paying attention I've been trying to use the signs to find the cafeteria. I'm the new kid by the way, so do you guys know where the cafeteria is?" He asked with a smile. I stared into his blinding bright eyes. My heart was racing but I couldn't connect the dots. After an awkward silence and staring at him Mark coughed and smiled at him while putting his hand out to shake,
"Hey new kid nice to meet you, my name's Mark and this..." He said looking at me and me back at him,
"Is Emily. Hey, we're going to lunch right now, you want to sit with us?" Mark stomped on my foot to snap me out of this staring contest I was having. I jolted and glared at Mark.
"Sure that would be great." He said while shaking Mark's hand, "Oh, by the way, my names Jason."
The rest of the day we were followed by Jason, and of course, he had most of the classes we had. I didn't say much, I kept looking at Jason trying to figure out why he looked so familiar. He kept catching me staring at him, he would respond with a chuckle and a smile.
Mark was telling Jason about the school and all of the codes our dumbass school has. Jason would nod and occasionally laugh. The bell finally rang, I quickly got out of my seat and walked to my bus.
When I got home the day went by much quicker. I did my homework and waited for supper. I was listening to my "foster" parents yelling at my "foster" sister for calling my mum a prick, after twenty minutes worth of screaming and name calling they braked my name down for supper. I sighed and slowly walked down the stairs towards the kitchen table. We were having steak, mash potatoes, and corn. I grabbed my plate and sat down at the kitchen table with my "family."
my thirteen-year-old "sister" pushed her long black hair out of her face so you could see both of her blue-gray eyes. She sighed and looked down and began to type on her phone at the table. I looked to my right to see my "mum" and "dad" silently preparing their plate at the kitchen counter. I suddenly began to lose focus, Oh no not right now, please... My vision went black, I tried to snap out of it but I lost control of my eyesight. I put my elbows on the table blindly and put my head in my hands to make it look like I was tired a vision was forcing its way through my mind.
