Waking up I checked the time. It was about 6:00 in the morning. Track Tryouts is today. I'm kind of nervous though. Since it was early i decided to unpack, and get everything organized. It was 8 o'clock and i decided to take a shower. walking out my room i seen jasmine.
"Good morning roommate" she said
"Hey good morning umm where's the showers?"
"Go out the door to the right and go straight down its not hard to find"
"Thank you" I said
"That's one beautiful necklace you have there" she says staring at it.
'Oh thank you my best friend gave it to me."
"Oh" She says with a slight attitude.
"Yeah" i said giving her a confused looked
"Anyways good luck on you track tryouts"
"Thank you i said walking out the door.
Wait how did she know i run track? Anyways i took my shower got dressed headed back to my room. I had just arrived to the track. it was nice out not to hot but not to cold. i found Coach May standing on the track. walking up to him i watched all the men and women run. "Hi coach may?" I asked. " Yeah whose asking?" " I'm Asia and I'm trying out" " Well i don't see you running" he says. okay i though laying down my gym bag i took out my iPod and stretched. wile stretching some cute dark skin dude walked up to me.
"Hey" He said
....... I Ignored him
"Okay lets try this again hey " He said
"Hello" I said
" Now was that so hard?"
"No just nervous"
"about?"
"Tryouts"
"Don't stress it you new here?"
"Yup First year"
"ok - " he gets cut off
"Bro you should to be running" this guy said
" Oh i will "
"Who is this? whats your name ?"the guy asked
"Asia"
"Hey Asia I'm James"
"And I'm Cornel-"
"Asia you say you are here for tryouts but i don't see you moving" Coach May says
We continued running and time passes. it felt good to run again. I felt free and less stressed out. Stopping in front of coach, i waited . he looked at my time then at me. "Well ?" i asked biting my lip and looking at him. "You made it" Yes! i jumped up and down "Thank you" I said. Grabbing my bag i walked out heading to my dorm. " hey best friend" i looked up and James was there. "Yeah ?" i said. He walked up to me. " How you gonna leave without exchanging numbers?" he asked. I laughed as he put his number in my phone"Whats yours" He asked . I smiled placing my phone in my pocket. I don't give my number out" walking away. " Yo Cornell did i just get pimped by my best friend?"
Going back in my dorm i grabbed my shower supplies and started to shower. getting out the shower, i got dressed in my pajamas. no class today! yeas i get to sleep and watch TV. i reaches my dresser to grab my necklace but it was no where to be found that's weird. Standing up i looked in my draws and my gym bag. i know i took it off and put it on my dresser. Hearing the door closed and open i walked out to see jasmine "Hey jasmine have you seen my necklace?" she shook her head"No i haven't i just got back. you sure you didn't leave it on the field?" I nodded my head heading back to my room. I hear my phone my Its my best friend.
"Hey Girl"
"Hi best friend"
"So how was it?" she asked
"Girl i made the track team"
" Congrats girl i knew you could it."
"Thank you Thank you"
"So have you met any new people?" she asked?
"Yes girl , well my roommate her name is jasmine she's alright though just a little weird"
She laugh "Ok"
" Oh and this one dark skin boy name James. he 's cute but he calls me best friend." I said
"What" she yelled through the phone.
I laughed " Yeah you will always be my number one"
"Ok ok sorry " she said
So how have you been?" I asked her.
" good girl but it ain't the same without you here though."
" awe boo its ok. but look here i had a long day and I'm tired I'll talked to you later." we said our goodbyes and hung up.
After that i went into the living room and sat on the couch watching TV. Jasmine came out and joined me. We didn't say not one word to each other. Till the show was over she broke the silence. "Hey you ready for orientation tomorrow?" she asked me. " Yeah i guess it shouldn't be that bad." it was an awkward silence. "So tell me about yourself" i told her
"Well my name is Jasmine Swan I'm 21 years old. i love to dance, read, and i don't like liars." I laughed. "So tell me about yourself she says.
"Well I'm Asia Cheerie and I'm 19 turning 20 in a couple of months. Track is Life. I like reading, and jocking around, having fun."
"That's nice" she says
"ok well I'm getting sleepy so I'm gone catch some Z's."
"Alright goodnight."
I went in my room laid down. thinking about my necklace. where is it? i asked myself . I turned off the lights and sleep took over me.
