Your love was like a lighthouse,

alluring, blissful, powerful---mesmerizing.

And I, a small boat, sailing across the immense ocean of solitude,

tossed, crashed and turned by the strong cold waves of doubt.

Setting my eyes on you,

I found hope that my soul would be at peace.

For you were my light,

in the midst of the fog of uncertainty.

But as I got closer to you,

It was all just an illusion.

I got to see parts of you I've never dreamed of,

Yet---you were not what I had longed for.

My boat crashed into the large jagged rocks on the coastline,

and it sank deeper into the unforgiving dark sea.

You stood tall, ghostly, and solemn,

watching quietly as my soul plunged into darkness.

I was horribly wrong.
