She wore her heart on her sleeve. Pools of tears clouded her eyes, and her skin was blotched red in ablaze. 

She pursed her thin lips, keeping herself from crying out. Her fists clenched angrily, and she stood still, blood rushing to her pounding head. 

Thump thump thump. 

Her mother patted her head, lifted her chin up and said:

"You are a big girl now. Big girls never cry. Wipe those tears, keep your chin up, and you face the world. Be brave..."
