Ariana POV
There wasn't a time where I didn't glance at Nathan tonight. It was just so hard to. Just looking at him makes me want to go up to him and kiss him, full on the lips.
His black hair was in spikes, giving it more volume. His eyes were a dark brown, just piercing into mine. I just want to look into his eyes for a longer time, but I just tend to look away. Curse my shyness when I'm with him. Even my heart won't stop racing when I either look at him, or talk to him. His eye crinkle when he laughs, or when he smiles. He's adorable. And those lips of his, they are just so irresistible.
Don't even get me started on his body. He wore a navy blue t-shirt, similar to the one that my brother wore. It had a v-neck that went all the way to the middle of his chest. His abs were clearly defined underneath the fabric. And I don't blame him if girls swoon over him. It's just that the fact that he chose Cassie bothers me.
I am jealous that I'm not his girlfriend, but at the same time, I'm not being selfish that he's not my boyfriend. He could be with whoever he wants to be with; I'm not the one to choose. But Cassie isn't the best choice.
I looked over Sami's shoulder to look at Nathan and Cassie talking to each other. Her fingers traced his skin, and they looked like they were really into each other. I was sure that they were not faking it.
I cleared my throat and looked at Sami.
"Could we leave now?" I asked her.
"But we came here mostly for the food. And the dessert isn't here yet."
"But-"
"Please?" She looked desperate.
"You know what? Fine. I'll leave then."
"No!" She grabbed my hand as I was about to go. "Just stay here. I need to tell my brother something. I'll be right back. Just don't go anywhere." I watched her as she went to talk to her brother. I don't know for sure, but I think that she is hiding something from me.
I saw them talking. Nathan whispered something in Sami's ear and she looked furious. Maybe it was "Gummy Bear". As soon as he pulled away, she pushed him into the water.
I brisked walked over to Sami, asking her about what she did.
"Oh, shit... he's drowning." She signed. My heart dropped for a second.
Without a second thought, I dove into the cold water, not caring about the temperature of the water. I brought his body out of the water, with the help of some other people who were willing to help. I came out of the pool, soaking wet, kneeling right next to Nathan's face.
I placed my ear next to his mouth to feel his breath. Unfortunately, he wasn't. I locked my hand together, and pressed down on his chest to get out all the water from inside his body. Some spilled out of his mouth, but he still couldn't breathe. I had no choice but to perform mouth-to-mouth CPR.
My heart started to beat faster at the thought of it. It would be like I would be kissing him. But no... it's not like that. He is unconscious. He won't know any of this.
I pinched his nose shut, and held his chin to open his mouth. I hesitated a second before I placed my mouth on his, blowing into his mouth. Several seconds passed, and that's when I felt Nathan's soft lips moving against mine, and his hand hold the back of my head.
My eye suddenly bolted open in realization that he was faking the whole time, and I immediately pulled away, getting onto my feet. He also stood up, not having any emotion at all.
"Nathan, what the fuck did you do just now?" I was having a mix of emotions.
I was glad that he kissed me, but I'm confused not knowing if it was really me or someone else he thought he was kissing. I was nervous, not knowing what he would say next. I was furious that he was faking himself being unconscious the whole time.
