never go back (luke hemmings fanfic)

' gathering'

After a few weeks at the place me, caitlin and the boys started to get closer and we was all like best friends now.

except luke.

Luke had spoken to me a lot more lately, but once again i'd be supprised if the conversation lasted over 3 minutes, normally it was just like ' what music do you like' or ' i'll see you at Ashtons later'. 

I really wanted to know why he was like this, when i spoke to him he was so awkward and ..shy i guess, but it came across as rude.

' hey cait, mia, would you like to come to a gathering sort of thing later' ashton asked i the sweetest voice id ever heard.

' yeh of course we would, wouln't we mia?' caitlin jumped at the chance, but she knew my parents wouldn't let me go to a 'gathering', which i was assuming was a party of some sort.

' hmm i don't know if i'd be aloud' i hesitantly said, now they'd think im some little goody who was afraid to let go a bit.

'actually skip that i'll go, i'll just tell my mum that im at caitins'.

'Ashtons at 8 then, yeh' calum gave me a cheeky wink before walking off.

Ash and michael gave us a big grin before following calum, but what suprised me was that luke just stood there, like he was going to say somthing, he opened his mouth to talk, but no words came out, with that he just turned on his heel and walked away. thought he was actually going to tell me something, scince i got here he's done nothing but confuse me.

caitlin furrowed her eybrows at me, as to say ' what was that about' I just raised my eybrows back at her and rolled my eyes as i sighed.

as we approched ashtons door, caitlin started fiddling with her fingers, she always did this when she was nervous, but why would she be nervous,the boys were our friends now?

'whats up cait?' i asked

'i dont know, its just i like ashton but i dont know if i should tell him, like what if he doesn't like me back?' she looked up at me, unlike previously when she had been staring at her feet.

' don't tell him yet. What i mean is see how tonight goes and try get him to find out himself that you like him' i gave her advise, even thought im shit with boys..

' you mean flirt?'

' yeh just give him subtle hints'

' aw i love you mia, thanks' she said before leaning in to hug me

When we walked in we saw at least 45 people all crammed in to the lounge of the apartment, but we couldn't find any of the boys, except luke, sat there talking to a blonde girl with tacky extentions that didn't match her hair colour. she was like throwing her self on to him, he looked really uncomfortable, i decided to walk over, and as i did he got right up and ushered me and caitlin to the kitchen where it was a little less crowded, where we saw ashton and calum. 

'sorry she was getting on my nerves' luke said and i swore i saw a glimse of a smile

' haha its fine' i said, a bit shocked that he was actually so pleased to see us

it didn't last long because as soon as i turned around luke was walking away with a red cup in his hand.

as me caitlin and ashton walked in to the lounge i saw luke walking up the stairs, i quickly winked at caitlin to make her remember what i told her earlier. with that i ran up the stairs after luke, i was shocked at what i saw.

a small girl with long red hair leaning in to kiss luke, and luke was about to do the same, oh.

i coughed to let them know of my presence,and they both looked over at me, the girl with red hair gave me a death stare and luke turned around and went in to what i pressumed was the bath room and locked the door behind him.

' thanks, SLUT' the arrogant girl said.

what? i've never been called that before.
