After History and Math, my first two classes, I headed off to Lunch. I really had nowhere to sit. I couldn't remember my old friends, and didn't feel like sitting with the obvious losers. So, I strayed over to the "nice" popular table where Michaela and the other pretty girls were sitting.
"Umm, hey guys." I set down my lunch tray, "Mind if I sit here?"
Michaela said, "No, of course not," at the same time an Asian girl sitting beside her said, "I thought we didn't let new people sit with us?"
"Who said that?"
"Umm, you..."
"Well," She flashed a smile, "We'll have to make an exception,"
"Umm, I'll just go sit somewhere else then...," I started to move my tray, but she put her hand on it to stop me.
"No, you will stay here," her eyes went violet for a few seconds, then she turned to the Asian, "Now Karen, you have to ignore me sometimes. You know I say things I don't mean," she turned back to me, eyes still that murky violet, and took her hand off my tray. Her eyes turned back to the greenish-blue.
The Asian, Karen, shook her head yes violently. I must not be the only one afraid of her changing eyes. I sat at the table, and Michaela smiled. A girl with long, brown hair broke the silence.
"So, who are you? You must be the new girl Michaela was talking about today," the girl said.
"Um, Kylie. And," I looked to Michaela, upset she was talking about me, "yeah, I guess I'm the one she was talking about,"
"Lauren," the girl said. I realized that must be her name.
A little African-American girl spoke next, "Armoni," I recognized her from History, "and with what you were saying with Mrs. Albertson... you are like... a total, 100% boss now!" Pretty much everyone except for Michaela and Karen squealed, they just smiled.
At that moment I saw Petty walk through the doors, I finally got a better look at him. He had changed... a lot... and now, he was hot. He had grown taller, much taller than I had expected, he lost his fattness, got a different haircut that DIDN'T make him look like an oompa-lumpa, lost some of the freckles that infected his face, and man, he was muscular.
"I see you staring at Petty," Lauren said in a teasing tone.
"Psshh, naw. Of course not," I tried to hide my embarrassment, but I could still feel the redness of the blush forming on my cheeks.
"No, it's fine. All the girls stare at him. But oh God, you shoulda seen him in Middle School. Good God, he was fugly," So that's where I knew her from.
Man, she's changed. I mean, she was fat!! And she was pretty, but now she's skinny and really pretty!! And for Petty, nope, I'm good. I already saw that before, almost too much of it too.
"You just gotta watch out, because if Jennifer see's you staring at him, she'll freak,"
"Who's Jennifer and why freak?" I took a bite of sandwich.
"Petty's girl. She doesn't like anyone anyone around Petty unless it's a guy," Lauren commented.
Almost as if on que, Petty walked past us, smiling at me. He had two guys on either side of him. He stopped all of a sudden next to me.
"So, you're the new girl that stood up to Albertson?"
"Uhh, yeah. I guess that's me...."
He smiled, "I'm Noah, but you can call me Petty,"
"Kylie," I smiled back sheepishy.
NOTE: JENNIFER WAS THE FIRST PERSON I COULD THINK OF. IN NO WHICH WAY OR FORM DO I SEE NOAH WITH HER. JUST WANTED TO SAY. WHY AM I STILL ON CAPS LOCK. HALP
