Captured

I was snapped out of my sleep by the sound of splintering wood, and before I could sit up and look around, a canvas bag was shoved over my head.

I yelled out in shock and swung at my attacker, a dull impact and a cry of pain reaching my ears as I felt Aurora struggling next to me.

I tried to reach up and remove the bag but at that moment a cloud of gas hit me in the face from a nozzle just under my nose.

I was hit by the sweet smell of chemicals and I slumped to the bed as my muscles stopped working.

I felt Aurora slump next to me as the same presumably happened to her, and I felt our bodies being moved as darkness seeped into my vision.

I felt someone's shoulder digging into my gut in a fireman's carry as I was bounced down the stairs.

I dimly heard the sounds of a chopper revving up outside, but my hazy mind couldn't process it as I lost consciousness.

I woke up with a yell as I tried to move, only to feel the bite of metal as chains rattled around me.

I looked up and saw my hands had been shackled to a stone wall and a glance downward showed the same for my feet.

I looked around the cell in haste for Aurora, but I was alone in my prison.

The walls were old blocks of rock that had long lines of moss running between them and over the sides.

The whole place smelled of stagnant water and dead plants, but the thing that truly set me off was the metal door that sat in front of me on the opposite wall.

The thing had to be made of one piece of steel, bolted to the stone with massive studs and plates of steel.

There was a single window in the center of it at eye level, but it was interwoven with chicken wire so trying to break it was out of the question, even if I could get out of my restraints.

I took some deep breaths, trying to calm down my racing heart, but all I could think about was Aurora.

Where is she?

I thought to myself, What are we doing here?

My reverie was ground to a halt as the lock on the door clicked loudly, and it swung inward to reveal a very pleased looking woman in a silver outfit.

My eyes widened in shock, "Sergeant!

What are you doing here?!"

She flipped on the single hanging light and stepped into the room, her brown hair now lack as I spotted a big red 'R' on the front of her shirt.

She smiled at me as I recognized the symbol, "So you figured it out.

I'm an agent of Team Rocket.

They call me," she flipped out a black flower and threw it at me, the sharpened tip on the end of the stem digging into the stone next to my head. "the Black Rose."

She walked up and stopped just close enough to grab the metal plant from the wall, her eyes locked with mine, "In case you were wondering, we aren't going to kill you.

Oh no, we're going to keep you as insurance so our little pet doesn't disobey the boss."

I ground my teeth, "So you were working for Rocket the whole time.

No wonder you didn't throw us in jail, it would have been that much more difficult to take us captive."

She laughed with a fake smile on her lips, "Smart as well as handsome.
