As day turned into night the bar slowly filled out with more of the locals. Ashton and I had sat at the bar getting steadily more intoxicated and chatting and joking with the regulars.
“So, do you like sport?” I asked, curious to know more about him.
“Yeah, I love football, baseball, rodeo…anything really. How about you, do you like sport?” He asked.
I wrinkled my nose.
“Not really, I can’t stand English football” I stated.
“Ah Soccor” He said nodding with a smile.
“Yeah” I smiled back “In England we have cricket or rounders instead of baseball, but I suppose our rugby is similar to your football, so hey I might like that” I offered.
“So you like rugby?” He questioned.
I smiled smugly.
“Yes, I like watching strong men show off their guns on the pitch, does that make me a pervert Ashton?” I purred.
“Yes” He laughed.
I smiled, I liked his laugh, it softened his whole face. Something about the deep rich timbre of it made me feel warm inside, or maybe that’s just the alcohol I thought funnily.
“Ashton I’m really glad we- ”
“Hey sweets” A high voice chimed from across the bar.
I looked up and saw the busty blonde from when I first arrived smiling at Ashton, was that really only two days ago?
“Hey Anna, I didn’t know you were working tonight” Ashton said looking unfased.
“I just started honey” She said giving him a knowing smile.
The sort of smile a woman gave to a man when she knew what he had to offer.
“Anna this is Kim, Kim this is my friend Anna” He said without hesitation.
“Hi Anna” I said neutrally, not wanting to be a bitch but not exactly wanting to converse with this bimbo.
“Hi, it’s so lovely to meet you, I’m such a huge fan!” She giggled.
Well don’t I feel like a bitch!
“Oh, that’s nice” I smiled.
“Uh this is slightly embarrassing but urm…could I have your autograph?” She asked excitedly.
