*NOTICE* I am going to rewrite this chapter sometime in the future and i may rewrite a few chapters after that but im not sure yet. Just be on the lookout

By the way, I put a picture of how i think of Rhani on the side :)

I heard the soft sound of padded feet on the hardwood floor of my room accompanied with the sharp clicking of nails.

A soft head butted against my arms and I absentmindedly brushed my hand against the furry head. I continued to stare, unblinkingly, at the computer screen in front of me. I just couldn’t think of what  to say. I had to complete my essay on modern advertising by tomorrow. It had to have 500 words. How many do I have? Zero. Zip, nada, nothing.

The black cat at my side tipped her head to the side questioningly.

“Do you even have an idea of what you’re going to write about?” Her voice was mocking and her bright green eyes sparkled.

“You know, it’s sad when my talking ghost cat is mocking me.” She just shrugged her kitty cat shoulders.

“Since you’re oh so smart, how about you come up with an idea, Emerald.”

Yes my cat is dead. No I never even knew her when she was alive. Yes she can talk. No she could not talk when she was alive. Yes she is smarter than me.  Yes she probably was when she was normal too. Yes she is a smart ass.  Maybe she was when she was normal.

“How about talking about the decrease in sales between America and China?” I blinked slowly looking at her.

“There’s been a decrease? Wait, how would you know? How is my cat so much smarter than me? I can’t write about that. I don’t even know what’s going on.” She rolled her eyes at me.

“Okay, how about the rise in gas prices. Much simpler and even you should know about it.” Her whiskers twitched in amusement and I rolled my eyes.

“You’re such a smart-ass you know. But at least I have something to write about now.” Just as I started typing, I heard my mom shout from downstairs.

“Rhani! Dinner!” I groaned.

“I’m doing homework!” I shouted back at her, hoping she would just let me eat later.

“I don’t care if you’re doing homework! We’re having a family dinner at the table with a home-made meal!”

“Screw home-made family time crap. I just wanna get my home-made essay done,” I grumbled in irritation. Emerald snickered from behind me and I glared at her.

She settled down on my bed and curled her tail over her eyes. I walked out of the room and down the creaky stairs to face our ‘family time’.
