WHEN EASTER HOLIDAYS END, THE Hogwarts express returns without Ginny. Once again, the spirits in the castle are crushed as she and Neville had been the ones who were the most active. However, Seamus won't let the spirits die, and he delves right into the fight that rages on against the death eaters who have conquered their school.

He is in for a special surprise however, when, one morning, as he sits with Neville at the Room of Requirement along with a few others who too, have taken up permanent residence here, the portrait of the young girl swings open and a tall and dark boy walks in, a timid hesitation in his steps.

It takes Seamus a few minutes to recognise him, perhaps because of the fact that Dean has grown considerably taller, or perhaps because he just cannot believe that he is actually here, in person, wearing the same smile on his face that he had always found so breathtaking. When he does recognise him, however, he is up on his feet in a matter of a few seconds and has flung his arms around him, allowing Dean to envelope him in his warmth.

When he pulls away, Seamus doesn't notice the people around him, neither does he notice Luna, who has arrived with Dean. The only thing he can think about is the boy in front of him, and the only thing he can see are his dark eyes that shine with fire as they pierce into his soul. But Seamus cannot get his lips to move, cannot get the words that have been stored deep inside him to leave his mouth. And thus, he simply moves closer and sinks into his arms, placing his head over his chest and closing his eyes, all the tension and worry and pain dissolving into the floods of hope and joys and happiness that Dean has brought with him.

For the next few days, Seamus allows himself to get the much needed rest, and stops worrying about everything. How can he worry though, when he has Dean right beside him? When he can see his smile, hear his voice and feel his hands on his arms? His heart is soaring, and he finds joy in simply sitting beside him and listening to the adventures he has gone through when in hiding.

He doesn't care if Dean doesn't feel what he feels for him - he is glad that he is alive, and that they are as close as they possibly can be.

in case you're confused, i changed the whole story into present tense because the mixture of past and past perfect was looking awful, and because this suits the book much better.
