I looked at him as confusion crossed my face,"Um yeah, I understand but I have math homework to get to... Good old math... So I'll see you um, when the world ends?" I laughed nervously and started to get up.

Harris looked at me in surprise and grabbed my wrist,"Wait Gab. If I didn't think you could save us all then I wouldn't have asked you. I know you may not think you have control of you powers, but let me assure you, you will get the hang of them through the training I'll give you."

"No no no, I think I have a hold of them... So what is this training thing you're talking about?" I asked nervously. "Well since you think you have a hold of your powers then I think this will be even easier for you. Don't worry, I'll be right here the whole way." Harris replied.

"We start tomorrow. See ya at noon!" Harris jumped out of the tree house and ran to his hideout. I slumped back on the wall and wondered what on earth I got myself into this time.

As I walked home, I wondered what powers I had. It couldn't hurt to try, right? I remembered the time when I was a kid that I sang around the house for fun. I never understood what happened, but it has always remained a mystery until now it seemed clear.

I skipped around the house when I was a kid. Those were the days that I was still adored by my parents. I would sing and time seemed to stand still. I guess it did because those were the quietest times in my life: the times when I sang.

I shook my head and ran home. But an idea came to me: what if I sang? I could test it and see if it was true. Then maybe I wouldn't be so confused when Harris talked to me.

But first, I would have to avoid the conversation of why I was late to dinner.

They are going to kill me.
