"Yeah... but I meant just us"

-Wyatt's POV-
I stood in the doorway in shock as Echo practically ran away; I thought whoever was knocking was one of the guys. Fuck. Everything she just saw looked so bad, I had this random girl sitting on my bed, both of us shut in my room while everyone else was in the kitchen. But it wasn't anything like that; Finn and Jack had invited some girls they had met while around the campus to our apartment to drink, obviously they only had one motive for the night but I wasn't involved or interested, I never am when it comes to those kinds of situations. I decided to stay in my room but Finn had practically shoved the girl into my room with me... she seemed interested and into it, but I wasn't, at all. I didn't even want to look at any other girl apart from Echo, she'd been on my mind since we spent the day together earlier. I had just texted her but she read the messages and ignored me.
"You guys are fucking assholes." I said angrily, bursting through the kitchen door and causing everyone to stop talking and turn to look at me.
"Calm down noodle head, what have we done?" Jack laughed, which made me even angrier, he never took anyone seriously.
"Finn, you just fucked up any chance of anything good happening." I yelled at him slightly, and although everyone else in the room seemed completely lost, Finn knew exactly what I was talking about, I had told him how I felt about Echo earlier, and his face dropped. Before he could say anything, I left the room and slammed my door, locking it behind me. I couldn't deal with them guys right now.

-Echo's POV-
It was 6:40am, and I was walking through the town towards the coach stop. It was still a little dark outside, and freezing. I had one big bag hooked on my shoulder, packed full of things I needed for a couple of days away from that place. I hadn't told anyone that I was leaving, I didn't want to talk to anyone, I was still beyond upset and pretty overwhelmed. I heard the girls come home the night before, and Millie knocked on my door and called out for me before they all settled in their rooms, but I chose to ignore it, I didn't want to talk about what was going on and I knew she would know something was up.
I finally reached the coach stop, and after a few minutes it pulled up, and I handed my ticket to the driver and found a seat next to the window at the back; it was practically empty, which I liked, and I settled into my seat, throwing my headphones on and beginning a playlist as we set off.

-Millie's POV-
I was just climbing back up the stairs from taking the trash out, when I heard someone call my name up the stairwell above me. I quickly ran up the stairs to find Wyatt standing outside my apartment door.
"Hey Wyatt, what's up?" I asked, slightly confused.
"Hey, sorry Millie." He began, he seemed pretty stressed. "Uh, could you please try to get Echo to come and talk to me, I know it sounds weird but she's been ignoring me after something that happened last night." I raised my eyebrows at him, the worst scenarios running through my head instantly; if this boy hurt my best friend, he was dead.
"Wyatt, if you tried something that she wasn't comfortable-"
"What? No, no, Millie it was nothing like that." Wyatt cut me off quickly, stumbling through his words, I could tell he was telling the truth. I nodded slowly, and opened the door, letting him in, and we both headed to her door, and I began to knock.
"Echo, honey?" I said, but no answer. I continued knocking harder, thinking maybe she was still asleep even though it was 11am. "Echo?" I said, getting more and more worried, wiggling the door knob to check it wasn't unlocked, but it was. She wasn't in there. Me and Wyatt both exchanged a look, before pulling out our phones.

"So she's gone somewhere." Wyatt said in a panic, but I smiled softly and told him to calm down.
"She's gone home, I know her too well. Things probably got a bit too much here, she doesn't do well under pressure and stress." I explained, scrolling through my contacts to find her number, getting ready to call her.
"Oh..." Wyatt said, calming down a little. "If you talk to her, please tell her things weren't what they seemed and to talk to me... please." He asked desperately, and I nodded in agreement before he turned away and headed back up to his apartment. What they hell happened between them two? I clicked call on her contact and let it ring, until she finally answered.
"Hey Mills." Echo said on the other end of the line.
"Girl, you're lucky I know you well, me and Wyatt were beginning to freak out until I realised you probably went home." I said, teasing her a little.
"Yeah sorry... you were speaking to Wyatt?" She asked, sounding a little surprised.
"Oh, yeah, he came to me and asked me to ask you to talk to him and that things weren't what they seemed." I said, repeating the words Wyatt had just said to me. "What happened? If he hurt you I will-"
"No, don't worry Millie." Echo sighed. "I just went to see him last night but he had another girl in his room... it kind of upset me because we had a really nice day and both kind of made it clear that we liked each other... I don't know, maybe I'm over reacting."
"I see." I said, taking in what she just explained. "I would be upset too... but hear him out Echo, he seemed pretty bothered by it."

-Echo's POV-
I had been home for a while, and had been spending some time with my parents, who were very happy to see me. It was getting later, so we all decided to head to bed, but I was still wide awake. I was thinking about what Millie had told me earlier, and after a lot of thinking, I had decided to finally call Wyatt.
"Echo." I heard him say, the call connecting after only two rings.
"Wyatt." I answered. "Millie told me what you said."
"Echo, it wasn't what it looked like I promise you." He began, Millie was right, he did sound pretty stressed. "Finn and Jack had a bunch of girls at the apartment and practically threw that girl into my room without even asking me."
"Oh..." I said, suddenly feeling very stupid.
"I wouldn't have spent the whole day with you and said those things if I didn't mean it, Echo."
Me and Wyatt spoke a little more about the situation and finally settled it, before moving on to normal conversation. I didn't want to end the call, I loved hearing his voice.
"So when are you coming back?" Wyatt asked mid-yawn.
"I'm going to stay tomorrow night and then head back the next morning." I said, giggling slightly at his cute yawn. "Why, do you miss me?"
"I actually do." He said softly. "When you come back, we need a movie night or something."
"Oh yeah, that would be really fun with everyone all huddled into one of our rooms."
"Yeah... but I meant just us." Wyatt said, and it made my heart skip a beat, I'm so oblivious.
"Oh... yeah, we'll definitely do that."
