"ALL RISE! JUDGE MACY IS NOW IN!" the security guard yelled as the judge entered the courtroom.

"So, Mr. Lennel, you are being charged with breaking and entering... how do you plead?" the judge asked.

I never understood why judges ask this. I mean, clearly, the criminal is going to say that they're gonna plead non-guilty.

"We plead guilty, your honor," says Mr. Lennel's lawyer.

As all of this stuff is occurring in the court, I start to feel pressure and worriment. The remembrance of when my father got locked up and put on the electric chair. I can't seem to catch a breath. I start to panic... I can't breathe. Then all that I can remember after that is darkness.

I wake up to see a crowd around me and Ms.Beverly telling me that I'll be fine. She seems worried about me. There are medics all around me and they're taking me to the ambulance. Then to the hospital. All that I could hear the entire time was the Mayor saying that I'd be fine. I enjoyed her being there because that showed me that she actually cared for me. I thought that she was only helping me out because I was black and she was one of those people who thought that they could just help but... she's different than the rest. Very different. And I wasn't about to let that go away forever because of what her family wants.
