Your POV
"Hey squirt" Uncle Jim bear hugs you, greeting you the same way he always has. "My, you've gotten so big" he stares in awe at your face, admiring the young adult you've become.
You smile and say a semi-quiet "i know. Time flies."
The whole family had greeted you as they came through the door. Your mom made you answer it while she finished the large meal preparations. An endless train of Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, and cousins poured through.
They were all more than excited to see you.
"Hello, my sweet granddaughter" your grandmother says as she walks through the door. Her handbag was twice the size of the average handbag, it was where she kept everything you'd ever need.
"Hey, Gram" you smile and hug her, feeling a warm sense of comfort from the familiar scent she always carried.
When you pull away, she smiles at you oddly. "What?" You ask.
"Oh, nothing" she trails on. The last of your cousins head out to the kitchen, and you and your grandmother are left alone in the entrance way. "Your mother informed me that your boyfriend will be coming over" she nudges you lightly with her elbow.
"Oh, gosh" you laugh. The blush on your cheeks was enough for her to smile brightly.
"I know that look" she points at you. "The look of love."
You just shake your head a little as she walks away, leaving you standing alone by the door. You were enjoying the peace too much to go and join the rowdy family, so you stayed in the entrance way.
Laughs and greetings flowed through the hall to you, like a sweet melody.
'Ding-dong'
You roll your eyes and prepare yourself for more family members, until you remember there weren't any others. Everyone had arrived; except for Grayson.
You mentally squeal and smile as you pull open the door to reveal a nicely dressed Grayson. He had a bright smile on his adorable face, ring earrings in his ears. A dangling wing earring in his one ear, opposed to only one ring in his other.
"Wow" is all you can manage. You'd only ever seen him in sweats and an orange jumper.
His hair was flopped over his forehead like it usually was. He was utterly, flawlessly perfect.
"Wow to you, too" he smirks at you, eyeing your simple black dress. The top was long sleeved and the skirt of it flowed out nicely. The olive green and black of his pants sort of matched perfectly, like you had planned this. "You look beautiful, baby."
The blush from earlier arose back on your cheeks, giving them a pop of color. "May i come in" he asks, glancing passed you to the doorway of the kitchen where your entire family was currently catching up.
"One sec" you say before placing your hand on his chest, pushing him outside further away from the door. You close it behind you and glance up at his beaming face.
His eyebrow was quirked in amusement, "what's this for?"
Your hand was still lightly placed on his clothed abdomen and you let it linger for a second more before retracting it, "we have to set some rules."
He nods.
"No talking about how we met. Say we went to school together" you cover, hoping no one would find out that he was your mental patient.
"Got it." He confirms, keeping his eyes locked on you.
"Also, do not mention Bailey. It would just cause so many problems, and i'm not looking forward to awkward glances from my whole family at once" you felt guilty for that one, but it was the truth. Grayson understood and kept listening.
